This post was highly requested after posting about centering my workout routine around my menstrual cycle!

So here is your guide to cycle syncing! 🌖🧘🏻‍♀️✨🤍

This is a very brief introduction into cycle syncing so I encourage you all to do more research! I have added a few links in my bio (Pinterest boards, podcasts, and a research article) about hormones/cycle syncing for you!

Diet is super key yet very complex when it comes to eating based on your cycle so I recommend checking out the Pinterest board I added to the link in my bio ☺️

Also an honorary mention to these accounts, 🤍 they have helped me a lot when it has come to getting my hormones on track after getting off birth control and living in a state of having too much stress & cortisol activated!

This year, I have made some adjustments to my fitness routine. In all honesty, it is challenging to not engage in such high impact workouts all the time. However, changing my workout routine has benefitted me for the better!

The two things I've changed: I have implemented more low impact workouts, pilates and yoga into my routine. I also have planned my workouts based on my menstrual cycle.

The biggest things I've noticed is that my hormones and digestive system have benefitted from these adjustments.

Being able to workout differently based on my cycle has improved my energy and balanced emotions throughout each phase in my cycle. Implementing lower impact, pilates and yoga has enabled my body to focus on more breathing while working out, allowing my parasympathetic nervous system to activate.

If you are unfamiliar with the PNS, it's the nervous system that enables your body to rest and digest, leading to better blood pressure and digestion.

If you are feeling unmotivated by your current routine, or are wanting some change, I encourage you to add some Pilates and yoga into it! It's a great way to get your body moving without such high exertion of energy.

And for ladies, start basing your workouts off of your cycle, your hormones will thank you! 🧘🏻‍♀️

Best overnight oats recipe! 🍑🫐🤎

RECIPE:

1. Blend 1 cup of rolled oats (I like mine super fine!)

2. Add 1 cup of blended rolled oats to 1/2 cup of unblended rolled oats into a large jar.

3. Add 1 cup of milk to oats and 1 cup of greek yogurt (I used vanilla) and then mix!

4. Add 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1 tbsp of agave, 1 tsp of cinnamon and 1 tsp of apple pie seasoning (THIS IS THE KEY INGREDIENT.)

5. Shake/mix up this mixture and refrigerate over night.

6. Top with sliced peaches, blueberries and more cinnamon.

Full disclaimer: I do not like overnight oats and this is the first recipe I have made that I genuinely enjoy so ENJOY! 💋

giving you something to reflect on...

it's easy to always want something better and more for ourselves. and it's okay to want that!

but in what moments of stillness do we practice appreciating that we are right where we wanted to be?

i'm SO guilty of this. i'm currently on my way to my internship and although i love it, i can't help but thinking "what's next?"

"next for me" looks like: my final semester of college and applying to masters programs.

HOWEVER, not even 3 months ago, I was so stressed about where i'd be interning at. and i am absolutely in love with it. and if my past self (3 months ago) could see where i ended up interning and knew how much i love it, her heart would be melting!

don't be so hard on yourself. in your moments of stillness today, take time to appreciate how far you've come.

celebrate wins, always.
