We are closing. Thank you to all the customers who supported me.
Today I told my daughter that Daddy is closing the shop, and she almost cried. She was upset, but she understands that everything I do is for our family. I promised her that when the economy gets better, I will reopen.
Many people ask why I rent a big shop. It’s because when my kids get sick, I can bring them to the back and still work to support them. I can’t cancel appointments every time something happens. Some days I must pick them up from school, so I can only work mornings and late afternoons. I cannot wait in the shop all day like other studios, but customers still expect that.
I always offer the lowest prices and my best work, but still some people attack me—changing appointments, not showing up, using excuses, even using skin color or saying “shame on me.” It’s okay, but if someone uses these things to take advantage, that is not right.
Many customers love me, and I appreciate that. But the truth is the haters are more than the supporters. I am strong, but I am human too. My family is always number one.
So I have to put my dream on hold. My kids are still more important.
Thank you, and I hope to see everyone again when the economy gets better.
