Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions The official page of the Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU). Patients and nurses need effective advocates.

We make sure that the Prime Minister, the Minister of Health, other MPs and top-levels bureaucrats know what nurses think. We also serve as an information resource - keeping nurses abreast of the issues, creative strategies, tactics, and the lessons learned is an important part of our job.

Yesterday, Canada’s Senate released a report calling for new government powers to ban strikes and impose contracts on rail and port workers.

The right to strike is constitutionally protected. It’s not a loophole. It's one of the most important tools workers have to win fair wages, safe workplaces, and better working conditions.

Tell senators this attack on workers’ rights is unacceptable: https://canadianlabour.ca/campaigns/protect-the-right-to-strike/

The people of Cuba continue to face a growing humanitarian and economic crisis, impacting the entire country and its health care system. The CFNU joins the Canadian Labour Congress in making a financial contribution to the Canadian Network on Cuba. Together, we are calling on the Canadian government to take immediate action to support the people of Cuba as ongoing fuel shortages limit access to food, water, transportation and health care.
