Proud to share a successful intervention for a 4-year-old patient with severe bicuspid aortic stenosis.
Managing severe stenosis in pediatric patients requires extreme precision. We achieved an excellent hemodynamic result in this case, successfully reducing the mean gradient from 74 mmHg to 26 mmHg.
Key Technical Steps:
✅ 6F femoral access.
✅ Secure LV apex positioning via IMA catheter assistance.
✅ SAFARI XS wire for optimal stability.
✅ 14 mm Z-MED II balloon valvuloplasty (1:1 ratio).
✅ Rapid pacing performed via the LV wire.
Post-procedure, the patient showed no residual AR and excellent clinical improvement. Proud of the team for the seamless ex*****on of this case.

🩺 Clinical Success: Percutaneous TEVAR for Large Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm
Excited to share a successful case of a complex endovascular intervention that highlights the power of precise planning and minimally invasive techniques.
👤 Patient Presentation & Challenge
We recently managed a 65-year-old female presenting with:
Uncontrolled hypertension
Dyspnea on exertion (NYHA Class II)
Imaging: A CT aortogram revealed a large Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm (TAA) with a highly challenging, borderline landing zone just proximal to the coeliac trunk.
💡 The Strategy & Procedure
Given the anatomy, we opted for a completely percutaneous endovascular repair (TEVAR) to minimize surgical morbidity and accelerate recovery:
Deployment: A Lifetech stent graft was successfully deployed, achieving excellent exclusion of the aneurysm while precisely preserving the visceral flow.
Vascular Closure: Total percutaneous access was successfully managed and closed using a combination of 2 ProGlide and 1 Angioseal devices, ensuring complete hemostasis without the need for surgical cutdown.
🚀 The Outcome
The patient had an incredibly smooth postoperative course and was safely discharged home in stable condition on Day 3 post-procedure!
Kudos to the entire cath lab and surgical backup team for seamless ex*****on and excellent patient care. Interventions like these truly showcase how far endovascular therapy has come in tackling complex aortic pathologies safely and effectively.
