It decides what we experience in each moment from the information provided by the limbic system in the brain, which decides how safe or in danger we are depending on sensory input from our internal and external environment.

When I met Michelle she was 88 lbs and doctors wanted her on a feeding tube. She could eat one food and was constantly at the emergency room. This was despite going to some of the leading mast cell doctors in the county but only being given medications and no real answers. A year later, after working on her gut health and nervous system regulation with me, she was tolerating many more different foods and had gained almost 20 lbs!!! Her journey continues, but Michelle’s perseverance and faith shows that it is NEVER too late to heal and you are never too far gone.

These are all "beverages" allowed on the GAPS diet and can be a wonderful treat if you are sick of drinking plain water all the time. AND some of these even have beneficial properties, like ginger tea as an antihistamine and warm sea salt water being an electrolyte support.

HOW is it possible to travel for 5 weeks + and Never. Once. Eat. Out. (READ TO THE END for my histamine note).
Oh it's possible. I've done it multiple times.
Here are my top tips for eating while traveling and sticking entirely with a whole foods diet.
Never compromise your values đź’™
NOTE: this is objectively harder to do when you are still dealing with histamine intolerance. I always recommend no or minimal traveling for the first year you are healing. Once your histamine intolerance reversed, maintaining a whole foods diet this way is SIMPLE.
