An inspiring message from a Kiom client
From an evolutionary perspective our brain is there to keep us comfortable and safe. It's not to motivate and to help us follow our passions and desires. Our heart is here for that. I've been reflecting on this after my psychotherapy session this week. I find it hard to keep at things, healthy eating, exercise, new career path. I don't have real motivation. But what if my motivation is coming from my brain instead of my heart. I should go to the gym to look good or I should eat better so I'm slimmer. I see these inspirational people looking fabulous in their yoga pants and bras and want to look the same. But this isn't actually enough, this doesn't get me off my ass and go to the gym or swap the chocolate for the fruit. I need more, I need true motivation. So how can I tap into my true desires, my true passions and motivations? The answer lies in my heart, what really motivates me, what really drives me. So this afternoon, I am going for a run. I'm not going to the gym and lifting weights as my brain tells me to do, I am following my heart and she likes to run! Then, I am going to spend some time writing down what really inspires me. It may not come at once, but it's a start. Pen to paper....Lauren what does your heart want?! 🤔💜 We live so much in our heads and I don't think this is a place of true honesty, that is why I am going to follow my heart. Let me see how this goes. You are welcome to join me!
