Most poses are done on the floor and are held for 5 minutes or more with the support of props such as bolsters, blankets and blocks. Achieving Your Healthy Weight — An Ayurvedic Guide to Weight Management 2 hr
Weight can feel complicated—shaped by culture, emotions, stress, metabolism, and self-image. In this class, we’ll explore a refreshingly sane Ayurvedic approach to healthy weight that honors the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. Rather than chasing unrealistic standards, we’ll learn how Ayurveda helps you identify what your body is naturally designed to do, and how to create sustainable change when imbalance is truly present. Discover how your prakriti (constitution) influences your natural build, appetite, habits, and weight tendencies—clarifying the difference between being naturally lean vs. underweight, or naturally sturdy vs. overweight. Focus on strengthening agni (metabolic fire)—Ayurveda’s foundation for balanced digestion, stable metabolism, and long-term vitality. Leave with practical, personalized tools for what to eat, when to eat, and how to eat, plus guidance on exercise and lifestyle rhythms that support your unique physiology. Perfect for anyone who wants a grounded, holistic path toward healthy weight—without shame, extremes, or burnout.

I’m learning so much in my Ayurveda course and wanted to share this: Feeling overwhelmed about eating healthy? Start small. Small, consistent changes can add up to significant results over time. Unsure what to eat for breakfast? Begin with something familiar. It’s okay if your diet isn’t all organic or perfectly whole foods—what matters is starting now, even in small steps. Remember, determining what works best for your body can take around five years. Give yourself the freedom to experiment and grow into your healthiest self.

Feeling guilty about your food choices, but just can't get it right? Feel inspired, but don't know where to start? Too confused or overwhelmed to even try? Figuring out what to eat takes time. Fortunately, the discovery process can be fun and exciting.

Are you seeking a fresh perspective on health and wellness, one that emphasizes the vital role of spiritual well-being in physical, mental, and emotional health? My own spiritual journey has been full of twists and turns, but it has brought me to a deeper understanding of how interconnected these aspects of our lives truly are. From a biblical standpoint, the health of our physical bodies is of great significance, as it reflects God’s perfect creation. All of these areas—spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional—are intricately woven together, grounded in the four pillars of health: sleep, nutrition, energy management, and exercise. These pillars form the foundation for living a balanced and fulfilling life.

Finding Solid Ground: Navigating Life's Transitions Post Vacation and a Retreat

Life is a series of transitions—moments of profound change that challenge us to adapt, grow, and find our footing amidst uncertainty. Over the past three decades, I've embarked on numerous retreats and training; in some of them, I am a student, and in some of them, I am a presenter or teacher, and I've come to understand the complexities of transitioning back into everyday life after experiencing profound transformation.

Each retreat I've attended has marked a significant milestone in my journey. While some have sparked radical shifts in my perspective, others have simply validated the path I'm currently on. However, regardless of the nature of the retreat, returning to reality has always presented challenges.

Recently, as I navigated the transition back to daily life, I faced unexpected hurdles. The loss of my best friend, the end of a management position I poured my heart and soul into, and the passing of my beloved therapy dog, Rufus, over the last 6 months have left me grappling with a sense of loss and unfamiliarity. Yet, amidst these challenges, I am reminded of the abundance of blessings in my life - supportive friends, a loving partner, loyal clients, students, and the anticipation of welcoming a new puppy.

Reflecting on my journey from Zion National Park's heat to the frigid shores of Northern Minnesota, I am struck by each place's contrasting yet equally enriching experiences. While Zion challenged me with its rugged beauty and demanding hikes, the retreat on the north shore provided a nurturing community and reaffirmed my sense of purpose.

Integrating daily life, I hold onto the lessons and connections forged during the retreat. I remind myself that while the external landscape may change, the journey of self-discovery and growth continues. Each experience, whether in nature's serene beauty or the community's warmth, contributes to my evolution.

Navigating the transition after an immersive retreat is a process of rediscovery. It's about finding solid ground amidst life's uncertainties and knowing I am on the right path. With each step forward, I embrace the journey with openness and gratitude, knowing that the lessons learned and connections made will continue to guide me on my path to wholeness.

Mind-Body Yoga Therapy Session
HOMEMIND-BODY YOGA THERAPY SESSION
Mind-Body Yoga Therapy is a comprehensive approach to holistic healing, integrating ancient yogic principles with contemporary therapeutic methods. By combining these age-old practices with modern techniques, we aim to deepen awareness and foster a heightened sense of presence, empowering individuals to embrace self-acceptance more fully. This enhanced self-awareness becomes a catalyst for change, growth, and overall well-being in the realms of body, mind, emotions, and spirit.

In a Mind-Body Yoga Therapy one-on-one session, practitioners guide clients through a transformative experience. This session involves assisted yoga postures and a client-centered, open-ended, and non-directive dialogue process. The focus is on facilitating the client’s exploration of their present moment, fostering a connection with their physical, emotional, intellectual, and spiritual aspects. Whatever unfolds in this present moment becomes enriched by its relationship to the broader context of the client’s daily life— encompassing work, play, family, and relationships.

Although a series of sessions is often beneficial, profound transformation can also occur within a single session. Similarly, our themed Mind-Body Therapeutic Yoga Classes or 8-Week Group Series deliver impactful results. Our overarching mission is to guide individuals towards a life worth living—a purpose-driven and meaningful existence marked by reduced stress and anxiety, and enriched by fulfilling work and relationships.
