Having gone from gentle training and stretching into intense mountain biking I noticed the prevalence of this throughout the running and cycling communities and within myself.

It’s near impossible to push the body to such levels of fitness without an underlying driving force of emotion. Over time this became my reason to stop and ask the deeper question why? It took me years to scale back the training intensity I had become accustomed to but ive long since discovered that the level of settlement I now feel within myself and my body could never have been felt had I continued moving the way that I was.

Are you looking for ways to release stress, or considering what good cardio workouts can help your mood?

True training isn’t about incremental bursts of exercise to raise the heart rate and push beyond our physical limits. To train our bodies in truth is to learn how to move in life with conscious connection to our physicality and more so conscious connection to our deepest selves. But what does it mean to move in connection with our deepest selves?

The relationship we have with ourselves shapes how we move and why. Meaning; If ones life is operating on a foundation of stress and anxiety their day to day movements along with their exercise becomes fueled by the same stress. To live day to day from any such vibration flows into all aspects of our movement, from how we get out of bed to how we load a dishwasher to how we deal with conflict and interact with others. The more regularly our movements are led by such vibrations the more disconnected we feel from what once was a calm space of knowing within our hearts that which feels solid, settled and true. Conversely, by bringing awareness to and changing how we move to come from inner stillness, deep appreciation and love takes us deeper within and solidifies the connection we feel with ourselves, supporting our interactions with the world. We begin to move from a vibration of knowing who we are rather than a vibration of what we think we need to do to be better.

Regular one hour bursts of exercise will not change or restore our energy long term. It offers momentary relief. Whereas bringing consistency to the quality of our movements both during exercise and in the everydayness of life begins to re-lay an inner foundation of true harmony and joy. This new movement changes our energetic expression which then deepens our movement which again changes our energetic expression and on it goes, stunningly dropping us into greater awareness and appreciation of ourselves. A space within we have all moved further away from as a means to keep up with the fast paced expression of a world in disconnect.

To connect during exercise, using it as a time to be with ourselves rather than as a solution to a problem or a means to achieve an ideal allows us to re-develop a relationship of appreciation with our body that brings back our ability to hear the subtlety of what it truly needs. The more we listen the clearer this ability becomes. What once was a movement the body may have easily repeated can begin to feel aggressive or excessive. Rather than view this as a physical failure we can embrace the awareness on offer and nurture what is the clear, commanding voice of the body.

The more we listen, the deeper we go until one day we can naturally feel the difference between the energy of the kidneys and that of the spleen. Food will feel either supportive and expansive in our bodies or they will contract and deplete us. Exercise will either support true strength or it will leave us dense, hard, contracted and tired. Gone will be the calorie counting and finally the return of the felt sense ability to clearly identify every little nuance that is the bodies communication of what does and does not truly support us.

The fact is…training our bodies makes us strong. In more ways that just physically. It offers resilience beyond what we may be capable of understanding. To train in truth rather than be led by the noise of an industry gone awry we actually raise the standards of the health industry by raising the standards within ourselves and inspiring greater levels of self-love. ..
Self-love in movement.

If I had a penny for every green juice cleanse, turmeric late, yoga detox, healing retreat, fad nutrition plan,
diet, healer that claimed to be the answer to all that ails us then I’d have, well, I’d have a fair few bucks 😂

The truth is these things can make us feel wonderful and they certainly offer a level of healing support but they’re not the answer.

Truth be told, without moving our energy inwards, without going deeper within, clearing the inner clutter, expressing in truth, feeling our divine sensitivity, bringing more stillness. Without these things rather than drop further to the depths of ourselves we Instead...loop.

Around and around in circles Feeling wonderful for a while, not so great the next. Moving then to the next thing outside of oneself that may be the answer to it all, that offers the feeling and connection that one has been longing for. Anything that provides, albeit temporarily, a sense of self. Something to believe in, stand for, aim for, fight for or to convince others of.

So what if you move beyond the loop. You deepen. And with each new layer of depth came a feeling. Something familiar. The further you go the stronger the feeling.

The feeling becomes more powerful, vibrant, whole. It’s familiar, safe, secure and in no need of anything. It doesn’t need the validation, or the accolades. It doesn’t need to identify with anything, fear anything, become anything or convince others of something.

It just is. And it feels like a knowingness, a solidness, a fullness. It feels like you’ve come home and the only reason you feel a subtle sense of sadness is because you realise how long you’ve been away from such a feeling of true love.

You realise how long you’ve been so far from the real you 🌸

The more we deepen our understanding and connection to ourselves the more we desire only to move our bodies as a means to respect, strengthen and hold in the power of that true connection.

It also means we become less likely to want to impose forceful, aggressive training or other such forms of movement that push the body to extremes.

Our perspectives of where the line from one to other is formed depends on our view of ourselves.

Varying forms of movement can become a means to give to ourselves a feeling of something we lost connection to deep within. If instead we give ourselves back that depth of connection we can’t be led down a path of any such forms of aggression. It just wouldn’t feel right within.

Nothing could be more true, certainly when it comes to the functionality of the body. As we disconnect from our deeper sensitivities we can lose the felt sense ability to listen to the intricacies of what our bodies are communicating to us. This connection through our sensitivity develops the relationship we have with our body and more importantly the relationship we have with our true selves. Our sensitivity is everything.

I've created my first series of video on IGTV lightly touching on this subject and as I create each new video I'll continue to offer, as best I can for you, an explanation of how sensitivity is so important for us all especially when it comes to the health of the body. I hope you enjoy the first series as it unfolds. Please share to your stories if you feel someone you know may benefit and PM or comment any topic suggestions.

Enjoy 🌸

I’ve had a very on again, off again relationship with alcohol. Now being committed to living alcohol free I LOVE this!

I’m so grateful for my friends who are just so beautifully accommodating to me, offering alcohol free wine and home make Mocktails when we spend time together. It feels very special! Unfortunately Bars and restaurants tend to limit options to sparkling water and lime. Spaces like this can just offer another option to spend time with friends sipping on something fun and fancy without the booze. Love it 🥰 🙌🏼

Pour one out for the boozy bar scene! Sober nightlife is taking off in New York City, from posh mocktail bars to buzz-free pop-up parties. The objective: to deliver a fun night out without alcohol …

It’s officially gone cold! But that doesn’t mean I’ll be locking myself indoors for the winter ✨☀️❄️☁️
It’s been over 10 years since I moved to Melbourne from sunny ☀️ Queensland and I thought I’d never get used to what I felt were the most bone chilling winters.
What brought me a lot of joy was finding ways to move my body and keep warm. Now that I have my dogs (and Bob the random cuddle monkey you see trailing me) I love rugging up and getting out for walks to share time with them.
Sometimes keeping warm is as simple as a heated yoga class just to feel some cosy, warm time to myself where I can gently stretch my body. Or I enjoy the heat of a sauna where I can just sit in warm silence. Now we have more available to us like float tanks and infrared technology. All these options are wonderful and are ultimately creating a warm space for us to reconnect and be with ourselves so we can then take with us this reconnection and offer it in all that we do.
How do you like to stay warm in winter??? 🔥🔥🔥
