Timberwolves dancer, Carson Andringa, lost her father, Rob Andringa, when he was 51 - just two years after he was diagnosed at age 49 (back when the screening age was still set at 50).

Now, in her dad's honor, Carson Andringa is hosting Shake Your B***y: Dance For a Cause - a Colon Cancer Coalition fundraiser on Friday, March 27th, at 7 PM!

"My dad loved to dance," shares Carson. "To continue his legacy, we are going to dance to do his work."

Timberwolves dancers will be paired with survivors, patients, and caregivers for fun, high-energy performances that require no dance ability, just a giving heart!

With special guest judges, the focus is on fun, hope, and awareness!💙

Funds go to the Colon Cancer Coalition for prevention, screening, and awareness!

We love seeing survivors thrive, and this time it hits close to home💙

Former Colon Cancer Coalition Board Chair and CRC survivor, Kirsten Scheller, was recently honored at a Vikings Game as a Medtronic Game Changer!🏈🎉

In her interview with Fox 9, Kirsten opens up about her colon cancer journey. 14 years ago, at just 19, Kirsten began to notice blood in her stool, but was brushed off by doctors for her age and lack of family history. Kirsten continued to advocate for herself and was eventually diagnosed with stage III colon cancer at just 22 years old.

“At 22, getting diagnosed, my world got flipped upside down,” said Kirsten. “Will I see myself get married? Will I have the opportunity to have a dog, or own a house, or have a career?”

Now, Kirsten can proudly say that she’s accomplished all of those things!

"To share my story, and have my Medtronic career intersect with my colon cancer journey, was really special," shared Kirsten.

Kirsten continues to inspire our community and remind us to listen to our bodies, advocate for our health, and get screened!
