We had the absolute pleasure of welcoming Sunflowers Children’s Action Group a couple of weeks ago. Hearing the centre full of children playing, laughter, screams and joy was just wonderful.
We understand how nerve-wracking it can be for new groups to come and stay. Not knowing how accessible and inclusive we are, what the food will be like, whether we have the right equipment and facilities can be stressful for new visitors.
Sharing stories like this about how important and life-changing this visit was will hopefully help other families understand that there are fun, safe, inclusive and friendly places where children can enjoy themselves, whatever their ability.
One parent described her experience ...
"Every single member of the team went above and beyond to create an inclusive, supportive, and fun environment. Nothing was too much trouble, and they consistently adapted activities to make sure every child could participate and feel valued.
Seeing the children so engaged, happy, and included meant the world to us. It’s rare to find a place where such genuine compassion and dedication are at the heart of everything, and this experience exceeded all expectations. We are incredibly grateful and would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone, especially groups supporting children with additional needs." We can't wait to welcome the next groups of Sunflowers families soon!
