A successful and meaningful conduct of Durunungan: Puro Kalusugan was held in Barangay Boboy, bringing together community members, local leaders, and health partners in a shared commitment to promote health, safety, and overall well-being.
In celebration of Road Safety Month, the activity highlighted the importance of responsible driving through the theme, “Motoristang Responsable, Safety First Lagi” a reminder that discipline, awareness, and responsibility on the road can help save lives.
The program formally opened with a warm welcome from Barangay Captain Hon. Regie Ramos, who expressed his support for initiatives that uplift the welfare of the community. This was followed by inspiring messages from SB Chairman on Health & Sanitation Hon. Jefferlyn P. Dela Co**ha, Municipal Vice Mayor Hon. Jonathan G. Doromal, and Municipal Mayor Hon. Engr. John N. Celeste, who reaffirmed his continued support for programs that promote public health and community development.
One of the highlights of the event was the learning session on road safety delivered by Mr. Samuel C. Nanquil, who shared his expertise and real-life experiences in guiding participants to become responsible and disciplined motorists. Another important segment featured Ms. Precious April Tirones, who provided an informative discussion on the importance of blood donation and its life-saving impact in the community.
The activity also featured various simultaneous health services made possible through the collaboration of different partners: the bloodletting program was conducted in partnership with Pangasinan Provincial Hospital; cholesterol and blood sugar testing were facilitated by RHU–Agno; free circumcision was funded by Barangay Boboy; free medicines were provided by Selgae Pharma and Kalingang Gamot; and free chest X-ray services were made available through RCG.
Free lugaw was likewise distributed to all participants through the support of GuicoSina under the leadership of Governor Hon. Ramon “Mon Mon” Guico III.
Dr. Joseph B. Lopez, Municipal Health Officer, also expressed his gratitude to all participants, partners, and stakeholders who contributed to the success of the activity.
The LGU also extends its sincere appreciation to our non-government organizations and community partners, Guardians, MMTF, and CSAF for their invaluable support, cooperation, and active participation, which greatly contributed to the success of this program. This initiative reflects the strong collaboration between the LGU and its partners in building a healthier, safer, and more informed community.
