IBS is not a diagnosis. Syndrome means a collection of symptoms nobody’s pinned a cause to yet. If you’ve been told you have IBS and sent on your way, you’ve been handed a description, not an answer.
Your gut has four zones: upper GI, small intestine, large intestine, liver and gallbladder. Each one misbehaves differently. Bloating straight after eating hits differently to bloating three hours later. Right-side discomfort with fatty foods is a different conversation to urgency first thing in the morning.
Symptoms are your gut talking. The question is whether anyone’s listening.
I made a free gut quiz that maps your symptoms to the zone most likely struggling, and gives you somewhere to start. Comment "gut" and I will send it straight over.
