Belay Diagnostics Summit is a CSF liquid biopsy that gives doctors molecular information about your tumor from a standard spinal tap. That information can help confirm a diagnosis, choose treatments, and track whether treatment is working without a brain biopsy.

Low Grade Gliomas (LGGs) are slower growing glioma brain tumors that will likely become more aggressive and more cancerous over time.

IDH1 (Isocitrate Dehydrogenase 1) and IDH2 (Isocitrate Dehydrogenase 2) are genes that encode enzymes involved in cellular metabolism that help convert nutrients into energy. Patients with gliomas that have IDH1/IDH2 mutations generally have a better prognosis compared to those without these mutations.

Dellann Elliott Mydland established the End Brain Cancer Initiative, formerly The Chris Elliott Fund, on May 18th of 2002 with her late husband Chris Elliott.

Chris was diagnosed in 2000 with Glioblastoma (GBM), an aggressive type of brain cancer. Dellann was the caregiver to her late husband Chris throughout his brain cancer journey until he passed on June 13, 2002. Fueled by her personal experience with brain cancer, Dellann has worked tirelessly on behalf of cancer and brain tumor patients, caregivers, and their families for the past 24 years.

The End Brain Cancer Initiative is excited to announce its 2026 recipient of the National HOPE Award: Becky Moroney. Becky was diagnosed with glioblastoma (GBM), an aggressive form of brain cancer, in 2021.

Every May for over a decade, the End Brain Cancer Initiative has presented the National HOPE Award to a brain cancer patient who deeply inspires us with their courage and story. EBCI established this patient disease education initiative and award to highlight exceptional people who have inspired others through their brain cancer journey.
