A friend of mine does amazing work helping the elderly in her community and each Tuesday they have a group catchup morning where they chat, play games and have lunch.
She invites me to go along each month and give the group members soothing hand massages.
I love volunteering with them. The connection we get from those short hand massage sessions is both lovely and humbling.
The skin on their hands is - in their own words - worn and wrinkled and they tell me of their sore or stiff joints and tendon pain, of trouble opening jars or digging the garden.
Often the massages give them a bit of a reprieve from pain or stiffness and yet the favourite bit for them often seems to simply be getting their hands gently and genuinely held for a while 🌻

Whatever you are juggling today, whether things are going to plan or not, whether the balls are all in the air or on the floor, I hope you have the chance to smile along the way

Are you in tune with how you body feels and why it feels that way?

Whether you are feeling good or not so good, sometimes we get into a routine and this can set our minds into 'automatic mode' at times throughout our day.

Making small, simple changes can help take us out of that 'automatic' mode and give our brains the opportunity to create new neural pathways.

Things like:
- changing the image on your phone homescreen regularly
- moving the app icons around on your phone, tablet or laptop (shock, horror!)
- sitting down for a few minutes before you rush out the door and mindfully thinking about the day ahead
- taking a different route when driving to a usual location
- making some small changes to your rooms or common storage areas at home
- decluttering a crowded space, locker or car boot
- going to a different supermarket than usual or parking in a different area than you normally would
- if you wear the same clothes week after week while others are tucked away and never used, swap them around for a day, a week or a month - you might find some surprises

You get the idea?

Making simple changes on a regular basis encourages neuroplasticity in the brain - a great way to reignite your alertness and get in tune with your how your body and mind are feeling 👀
