ning my career in ABA while studying Psychology at East Carolina University transformed into an immediate passion for behavior, development and specifically autism. This led to the pursuance of my Master’s in Applied Behavior Analysis with a concentration in Autism Spectrum Disorders from Bay Path University. Since beginning my career, I have paved my way up and down the East Coast, having worked in various states and location types, learning alongside others, I have grown from an RBT, to a BCBA, Senior Clinical Supervisor and Program Director within clinic and home based settings.

Getting Out the Door...“Put your shoes on.”
Simple request… right? But somehow it turns into:
• Running away
• Laying on the floor
• Suddenly needing a snack, a toy, and a completely different outfit

This isn’t defiance, it’s often transition difficulty.

What helps:
✔ Visual or verbal countdowns
✔ Keeping routines consistent
✔ Breaking the task into smaller steps

“Shoes on” → “grab shoes” → “sit down” → “put them on”

We’re not just trying to get out the door, we’re teaching how to handle transitions.

This might look like a small moment… but it’s not.

Learning how to cut fruit builds:
✔ Fine motor skills
✔ Hand strength
✔ Independence
✔ Confidence

And it all starts with practice, patience, and a little support along the way.
These are the skills that carry over into real life, not just sessions.

One small step at a time 🤍

The Public Meltdown...it happens in the worst places. Target. The park. A birthday party.

Suddenly:
• Crying
• Yelling
• Everyone’s looking

And you feel like you need to fix it immediately.

Take a breath.

Most meltdowns aren’t “behavior problems”...they’re overwhelm.
What helps:
✔ Lowering demands in the moment
✔ Creating a calm exit plan
✔ Building coping skills before the situation

You’re not failing...you’re supporting your child through something hard.

And that matters more than how it looks to others.

There is something so powerful about moments like this 🤍

The connection, the trust, the safety that’s built over time… it’s what makes everything we do so meaningful.

Our RBTs don’t just work with Teacups, they build relationships that support confidence, growth, and feeling truly understood. And those little moments of closeness? They’re often where the biggest breakthroughs begin.

We see the hard work, the patience, the love and we are so proud of the connections happening inside these walls every single day.

To our Teacups and the incredible team that walks beside them… this is what it’s all about. 🤍✨

One of the most common things we hear is:

“Why does my child keep doing this?”

There’s almost always a reason behind behavior 💙

Our job is to figure out the why—so we can actually support in a way that makes sense

👉 Have you ever found yourself wondering this?

Drop it below if you’re comfortable sharing—we’ll do our best to give some simple tips that might help ✨

ABA Therapy is either life-changing…or controversial… depending on who you ask.

So what’s the truth?

It’s not just about what ABA is, it’s about how it’s practiced.
The real question isn’t “Is ABA good or bad?”

It’s:
✨ Is it respectful?
✨ Is it meaningful?
✨ Is it helping the person—not changing who they are?

Let’s have the conversation 💬 What’s your experience with ABA?

Life skills start with the little things 💙

Matching socks during laundry might seem simple—but for many kids, it’s a powerful learning moment.

With ABA therapy, we use everyday routines to teach important skills like:
✔️ Matching and visual discrimination
✔️ Following step-by-step tasks
✔️ Building independence

What looks like folding laundry is actually your child learning how to complete real-life tasks with confidence.

At T.E.A, we focus on turning daily moments into opportunities for growth...because independence starts at home 💙

Week 1: Taking Turns

Taking turns isn’t always intuitive but it can be taught in simple, meaningful ways.

With ABA, we break it down using social stories + guided practice so kids understand:
✔️ What taking turns looks like
✔️ How long to wait
✔️ What to say while waiting

These are skills you can practice at home during playtime, too!

At The Everyday Analyst, we’ll be sharing simple strategies each week to help our Teacups build real-life social skills 💙

We get it...going out in public can feel overwhelming 💙

For many families, elopement and safety concerns make everyday outings stressful.
That’s why at The Everyday Analyst, we practice these skills in real life.

Through guided field trips, our Teacups learn:
✔️ Staying close and safe
✔️ Following directions in public spaces
✔️ Navigating new environments with confidence

ABA isn’t just about the clinic, it’s about helping kids succeed in the world around them 💙

Why we love the vibration board 💙

The vibration board provides powerful sensory input that helps regulate the body and mind.

✔️ Supports focus and attention
✔️ Helps calm the body
✔️ Builds body awareness

For many kids, it’s not just fun, it helps them feel more organized and ready to learn.
At T.E.A, we love using tools like this to make support feel natural, effective, and engaging 💙
