This one is for those who keep going.
I found Qigong when I needed it most have never looked back and knows firsthand what it feels like when life stops you in your tracks.
After spinal surgery then years of chronic pain then in 2021 a tendon implant and a re-injury in 2024 I could have stayed down. Instead I came back to the mat. Every single day.

Qigong is what gave me that. Not by fixing everything. But by giving me back mobility, settling my nervous system and creating enough space between a hard moment and my reaction to it that I stopped feeling like a victim of my own circumstances.
I still have hard days and work through pain and setbacks. But my consistent practice means I face those days with more steadiness, more strength and more grace.

This movement is called Leaf Blowing in the Breeze. Simple flowing figure eight movements that support energy circulation, shoulder mobility, calm. It meets your body exactly where it is.
No experience needed. No perfect body required. Just you showing up for yourself.

Pizza Night… Gone Rogue 🍕😅

There’s a special kind of heartbreak that happens when you confidently reach for your gluten-free flour…

…only to realise you’ve just tipped in your collagen protein powder instead.

Both expensive.
Both stored in similar containers.
Both absolutely not interchangeable.

What was meant to be a crispy gluten-free pizza base turned into… a very committed, very confused protein shake.

Another Fawlty Towers moment at Jo’s Kitchen Capers lol 😂

Pizza night: cancelled.
Smoothie night: unexpectedly thriving.

Back to square one we go.

Moral of the story?
Label your containers.
Pause before you pour.
And maybe don’t store protein powder next to flour unless you enjoy culinary suspense.

For decades we were told to fear fat, load up on refined carbs and treat protein like a side note.

You can see looking at the state of worldwide health where that got us 😬 with rising chronic disease, inflammation, fatigue and a whole lot of confusion around food.
This updated food pyramid is a positive step in a time that desperately needs change.
🥑 Protein, healthy fats & full-fat dairy are back where they belong

🥦 Vegetables and fruit front and centre that are whole, colourful, minimally processed.

🌾 Whole grains encouraged (not ultra-refined imposters pretending to be food)
This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about real food, real nourishment, coming back to basics.
The world’s health is in crisis, but change doesn’t start with fear…

Hot. Cold. Breakfast. Lunch. Dinner. No judgement here😄

It would definitely be on the menu for my last meal,(but only if it’s homemade)
I love the whole ritual. Making the dough, shaping the base, a simple tomato sauce (3–4 ingredients, max), then keeping the toppings minimal so everything gets its moment to shine.

Our Ovana oven (thanks 🎅 ) crisps, puffs and chars the edges just enough, while the mozzarella melts into bubbling, golden goodness.
Honestly… my mouth is watering just typing this.

Food is my love language — to myself, my family and everyone who sits at my table ❤️🍕
