We have protein cheese, so there’s no reason why we can’t have protein whipped cream. Somebody enlighten me, please.

Or / just hit me up and let’s@make it happen.

Lay’s potato chips are made from potatoes! Now ya know.

Except all potato chips are made from potatoes. Hence the name.

If this feels like something I’d put on a fake rebranded label…you’re exactly right.

doesn’t really need my help considering the billion flavors and collabs they have BUT it’s a fun one to rebrand.

Changing up the label and calling out different aspects of a product can completely change the way it’s perceived. In this case, 5 different ways.

Would you be tempted to buy any of these?

Maybe the real miracle is the friends we made along the way.

But for real, can anyone let me know if they’ve ever tried these things? Apparently there’s some scientific backing to these doing what they claim…but it did absolutely nothing for me.

Most people have no idea that this part of a protein label even exists, so here’s a simplified lesson.

This amino acid score and %DV system isn’t perfect, but it’s what is currently used, so it’s helpful to understand it. Here are some quick facts to clear a few things up:

1- Essential amino acids are what your body cannot produce on its own, which is why we care about the amino acid profile of a protein and why this score exists.

2- “Incomplete” protein sources are not bad. If a protein is lacking amino acids, like wheat protein, you can pair it with complete protein sources or even amino acid supplements to fill in the gaps. It’s not the end of the world, you just don’t want it to be your ONLY protein source.

3- Some labels wont display a %DV. It’s only required when a food makes some kind of protein claim or callout on the package.

4- The protein pancake and waffle mix is my first baby that I formulated in my own kitchen. It’s so good. If you buy it, the labels may not be updated yet because this new transparent protein disclosure is a recent update. The labels previously just stated 15 grams total out of an abundance of caution, but each mix has 19 grams total protein. If you see 15 grams per serving, rest assured that the mix has 19 grams total, the labels just don’t reflect it (you can trust me, I have the secret recipe)

5- I originally posted about this topic a year ago, it went viral, and many people started making videos about this protein labeling topic. But it got blown way out of proportion, in my opinion. Keep it simple: track your total protein regardless of the source and just be mindful about your protein sources overall.

I hope this helps! And if you do want to try my protein pancake mix, which you totally should, you can find it on the website and my code “MATT” will save you 10%. It has been my daily breakfast for years now and I can tell you firsthand that it’s kid-approved.

Us Americans are gonna be grilling this weekend, so here’s a little rebrand of hot dogs to make you feel better about guzzling those glizzies (apparently that’s what the kids call them now)

Yes, it’s true. I have never eaten a hot dog before and now the goal is to just never eat one because I’ve made it this far.

Although the anabolic beef links make it a bit more tempting if wants to bring them to life.

Pretzels are my all-time favorite snack. And since everything is protein now, I figured I should try all the protein pretzels I could find.

Everyone’s tastebuds are different, but mine are flawless, so here’s what I thought of each one.

On the flavor front, I wanted to keep this simple and try to review only the salted option if possible, but in terms of other flavors…
power nailed all of their flavors. It has become one of my favorite snacks of all time but flamin’ crunch is my favorite.

only ever has the sea salt at my grocery store but ive been told the other flavors are superior so I choose to believe that!

definitely improve with the other flavors, but remain too dry for me.

And Lenny & Larry’s has a ton of other flavors but I have never been itching to run out and spend money on more of them, so here’s we are 🤷‍♂️

I nevvveerrrrr wanted to be an “influencer.” I started posting nearly a decade ago and never once showed my face. My goal was to simply post information and recipes and just operate behind the scenes forever.

Alas, the state of social media forced me to start doing videos. I hated every single second of it. And my videos were very, very cringeworthy. But it got easier over time, and now here we are.

If I truly stop to think about every single person that could be watching my video, it still makes me super uncomfortable. It’s crazy and bizarre that my family and random celebrities around the world are all watching me talk to a camera.

People might judge you. People might dislike your content. People might not care at all.

But people might also love it. And that makes it worth the risk. I promise, you’ve got nothing to lose.

And who knows, maybe it completely changes your life, because it sure did for me.

Here are 5 food label tricks to look out for…

Some of these can absolutely be legitimate. A multigrain food is in fact multigrain, and no sugar added might be something you look for. But that doesn’t mean companies aren’t still taking advantage of those claims knowing how they are perceived.

Natural flavors is one of the worst offenders out there, but the serving size manipulation is the thing that drives me the craziest.

What else you got?

Hey , in case you ever want to bring EZ Sq**rt back, here’s some inspiration.

Curious how many of you tried this back in the day. For anyone who never had it, the answer is yes, it came out the same way it went in.

I actually loved this stuff as a kid because I was OBSESSED with Heinz ketchup and put it on evvvvverything, so why not make some art with it?
