This month’s Distributor Spotlight shines on Debbie Weitz.
Read her inspiring story below and discover how she became part of the Aloe Ferox family and journey.
Debbie Weitz’s Aloe Ferox journey began not as a business plan, but through a deeply personal experience. When her husband, who is diabetic, was introduced to Aloe Ferox Juice by a friend, the results were so remarkable that the family made the trip all the way from Gqeberha to Albertinia just to purchase more. That single recommendation planted a seed that would later grow into something far bigger. Debbie’s daughter noticed an upcoming distributor course at the Aloe Ferox factory and encouraged her parents to attend. It was there that Debbie’s official journey as a distributor truly began. She recalls arriving eager to absorb every bit of knowledge “like a sponge”, inspired especially by Leah’s vibrant energy and passion. The course left such an impression on her that she even wrote a piece about everything she had learned, describing it as both eye-opening and incredibly informative.
Although Debbie’s busy schedule does not always allow her to attend the weekly Zoom meetings, she remains committed by revisiting the PowerPoints afterwards and staying connected through the distributor WhatsApp channel, where she values the tips, shared information, and monthly specials. Her dedication quickly showed results, earning her a place among the Top 10 Distributors in 2020. Much of Debbie’s success comes from her warm, people-first approach. Her marketing is largely face-to-face, built on referrals from happy existing clients, while she notes that many of the markets in Gqeberha are centred around food rather than wellness products.
What makes Debbie’s story especially inspiring is the personal growth she has experienced along the way. Before joining Aloe Ferox, she describes herself as very shy. Today, she says the journey has given her confidence, purpose, and a meaningful platform to help others. In the beginning, her greatest challenge was learning the wide range of products. She was terrified of recommending the wrong thing, but with constant support from the Aloe Ferox team – who patiently assisted with every phone call – she steadily built her confidence and product knowledge. It became, as she says, a learning curve worth embracing.
Debbie’s advice to new distributors is practical and heartfelt: make use of social media, read the monthly newsletters, and most importantly, listen carefully to clients’ needs without overwhelming them. Confidence in the products matters, but so does kindness. One of the biggest lessons she has learned is the importance of building trust and never underestimating the power of a sincere compliment. She also recommends keeping your own sales graph to track progress, adding a small glycerine soap as a thoughtful extra gift for clients, and remembering that men are an important market too – around 30% of her clients are men. Looking ahead, Debbie hopes to continue “spreading the aloe love”, break into the veterinary market as she learns more, and one day earn a place in the Top 5. With her warmth, determination, and genuine care for people, she is already well on her way!
