"My eyes water all day. How can they be dry?"
It's one of the most common things we hear in practice.
When the surface of the eye becomes dry or irritated, your eyes may respond by producing a flood of poor-quality reflex tears. The result? Eyes that water constantly, yet still feel dry, gritty, tired or uncomfortable.
So yes - watery eyes can actually be a sign of dry eye disease.
Treatment depends on the cause and severity but may include:
• Lubricating eye drops
• Lid hygiene and warm compresses
• Omega-3 supplementation
• Managing screen time and blink habits
• Treating underlying eyelid inflammation
If your eyes are constantly watering, don't assume they're "too wet." Sometimes they're asking for help.
Book an eye assessment and let's find the cause.
