🧘♂️Sunday Satsang — Awareness
The Space in Which Life Happens:
We spend much of our lives absorbed in the contents of our experience — our thoughts, emotions, sensations, memories and stories.
But what happens when we become curious about that which is aware of all of these?
A thought arises, and we notice it.
A sensation appears, changes and disappears.
An emotion comes and goes.
A sound enters our awareness and fades away.
Everything we experience is continually changing.
Yet there is something remarkably simple about awareness itself: it allows us to notice change.
Perhaps we don't need to solve the mystery of consciousness. Perhaps we can simply become more intimate with the experience of being conscious.
This is one of the gifts of practice — learning to step back from the contents of the mind without stepping away from life.
To notice rather than immediately react.
To observe rather than judge.
To allow rather than control.
And perhaps this is where presence deepens:
I am not only experiencing life, I am aware that I am experiencing life.
For a few moments today, see if you can rest there.
Not searching for anything.
Simply aware.🙏
