Deidrè, you were so ready to meet Lukas! Everything about the birth excited you, and it was wonderful to witness your eagerness to be in labour.

Women are so often scared of labour and childbirth because of the overwhelming influence of social media, hearsay stories, and simply our human nature, which doesn't always allow us to view pain in a positive light.

But as Sheryl Feldman said: “There is power that comes to women when they give birth. They don’t ask for it; it simply invades them.” That is exactly what happened!

It was a long labour. Your pelvis was incredibly painful, and the cramps in your hips were wild, making it difficult to bear down. But you never once said you couldn't do it, and you never said you were too tired. Despite the challenges, you were ready.

Esteon, wow. You were Deidrè’s ROCK! There are not enough words to praise you for the way you supported her throughout this day. We can all agree that all glory belongs to God. His mighty right hand sustained you, and when you finally held Lukas, the relief and joy were tangible.

Welcome, little Lukas Ezra Steyn, born on 7 July 2025 at 11:30, weighing 3.53 kg!

Prepare for birth and the early days of parenthood with confidence, support, and trusted guidance from experienced midwives.

Our antenatal workshops are designed to gently guide you and your partner through pregnancy, labour, recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care, in a warm, relaxed environment where questions are welcomed and families feel supported.

To create more space for learning, discussion and rest, the workshop has been restructured into two relaxed Saturday morning sessions.

🌸 Session 1 - Saturday 13 June: Birth Preparation & Labour
Explore the birth process, practical preparation for labour, comfort measures and pain management, partner support, and how to make informed, confident decisions.

🌸 Session 2 - Saturday 20 June: Postnatal Care & Breastfeeding
Prepare for recovery after birth, newborn care, breastfeeding support, and settling into life with your baby during those first precious weeks.

🎉🌼 Today we celebrate 10 beautiful years of Estherea! 🌼🎉

On this very special day, 5 May, we mark not only Estherea’s 10th birthday, but also International Day of the Midwife, a day that so deeply reflects the heart of what we do 💛

We ended our 10th year in the most meaningful way possible… with a beautiful birth last night. Baby number 386 born right here at Estherea. What a full-circle moment!

386 babies welcomed into the world in our space, and thousands more families supported, guided, and cared for along their journeys. We truly stand in awe of these past 10 years.

We are incredibly blessed. Thank you to every family who has trusted us with such sacred moments. Your stories are woven into the heart of Estherea, and we are so grateful to walk this journey with you ✨
