In a deliberate and innovative clubbing of Women's Month and Spring Day, the female officials of Lekwa-Teemane Health Subdistrict Office hosted an elegant British Bridgerton High Tea today, 02 September 2026.

The date was intentionally set to celebrate both the resilience of the Mbokodo and the renewal of the Spring season, a conscious decision to affirm, rejuvenate and lift the morale of officials who continue to deliver health services.

Dressed in Bridgerton-inspired elegance, the officials transformed the subdistrict offices into a scene of grace and blossoming sisterhood.

The highlight of the occasion was a powerful motivational platform led by Ms Motlhale the subdistrict's dedicated Social Worker, and a God-sent Life Coach Mr Walter Gumbati who had earlier roved the facilities with an interactive and deeply inspiring session.

They encouraged officials to blossom and grow in unison towards a revitalized service delivery within the subdistrict.

Christiana Hospital Reopens Phase 1 After 2021 Fire*

Christiana Hospital has not been in operation since it caught fire in 2021. After years of community hardship and travelling far for services, *the Department of Health has taken a decision to officially open Phase 1*.

*Phase 1 services now open include:*
✅ *Out Patient Department (OPD)*
✅ *Dental Services*
✅ *Physiotherapy Services*
✅ *Occupational Therapy Services*
✅ *Social Work Services*

This phased opening ensures that while reconstruction continues, the community of Lekwa-Teemane can now access essential services closer to home.

The Department thanks the community for their patience and the health teams for their resilience. More phases will follow as rehabilitation continues.

*Lekwa-Teemane Sub-District Outreach Event Brings Health Services to Madiba Sports Ground, Ext 5*

The *Lekwa-Teemane Sub-District Health Outreach Team* successfully held an outreach event at *Madiba Sports Ground, Extension 5*.

The aim was to take health services directly to the community and make them accessible.

*Services rendered:*
✅ *Immunizations* - Catch-up immunizations for children

✅ *HIV Testing Services (HTS)* - HIV testing, counseling & linkage to care
✅ *TB Screening* - Symptom screening and sputum collection
✅ *Non-Communicable Diseases Screening* - High Blood Pressure and Diabetes screening

Community members were educated on prevention, treatment adherence, and healthy lifestyles. Those screened and found to be at risk were referred to their nearest clinics.
