This year's campaign promotes Access, Equity and Impact, highlighting the department's commitment to ensuring that everyone, regardless of age, ability or circumstance, has access to quality communication and hearing healthcare services.

The Naleli Foundation visited the Paediatric Wards this morning, bringing warmth and comfort to our young patients through the donation of blankets and soft toys.

This thoughtful gesture provided joy and a sense of care for children receiving treatment away from the comfort of their homes.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the Naleli Foundation for their generosity to supporting the well being of our little ones.

As part of Speech Therapy Awareness Week, the Speech Therapy & Audiology Department engaged hospital staff in the “Beyond Words Challenge”to promote a deeper understanding of the communication barriers experienced by patients with speech, language and hearing difficulties.

Through a series of interactive activities, staff members were placed in situations that reflected the daily challenges faced by patients when navigating healthcare services.

Staff also listened to speech recordings presented with background noise, providing insight into the challenges faced by patients living with mild to severe hearing loss when trying to understand conversations and important information.

The initiative aimed to promote empathy, improve communication awareness, and encourage a more inclusive healthcare environment for all patients.

Today, the Hospital Management, together with members of the Hospital Board, conducted a walkabout as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen service delivery and improve the patient experience.

The walkabout focused on identifying and assessing infrastructure-related challenges. By engaging directly with conditions on the ground, management and board members were able to gain first hand insight into areas requiring attention, maintenance, and future improvement.

These regular walkabouts will assist to identify areas of improvement and create a safer,and patient-centred healthcare environment. The hospital remains committed to continuously improving its infrastructure to support the delivery of quality healthcare services to the community.
