Personality mapping. Yep... I've been in South Africa for over 20 years and still can't shake that stubborn French accent! I left my beautiful native little Belgium in 2001 when offered a position at the Belgian Consulate in Durban, after successfully completing an inte

rnship in the field of International Cooperation. Another amazing story, but for another time. Fast forward a couple of years, I fell in love with Specialized Kinesiology and BodyTalk when I personally experienced the amazing transformational impact those complementary therapies had on my life. While studying to deepen my understanding of those modalities – it was simply at first for personal growth, I realized quite quickly that there would be more meaning to all this learning if I could use the techniques I had now become familiar with, to assist friends, family and everyone who needed assistance to regain their optimal state of health and well-being. I thus became certified as a Specialized Kinesiologist in 2007 and as a Certified BodyTalk Practitioner (CBP) in 2009, while still working at the Consulate and carefully balancing those 2 very different worlds, for a while at least. I eventually resigned from my position at the Consulate, after 8 years, to welcome my son to this world and concentrate on my Complementary Therapies Practice. I have since then added many strings to my bow so that I am able to live my passion every day by working with you and assist you in improving your quality of life at so many levels! So come and say "Bonjour!"

𝗪𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗡𝗲𝘄 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗩𝗶𝗿𝗴𝗼 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝟭𝟭𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿!

Tomorrow night leads us into a quietly powerful New Moon in Virgo: a moment to pause, take stock and gently reorganize what no longer feels supportive.

Virgo reminds us that 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 does not always require a dramatic life change. Sometimes it begins with one healthier choice, one clearer boundary, one unfinished task completed, or one small daily habit that helps the body and mind feel safer and more supported.

This New Moon follows an intense eclipse period, so we may still be processing changes that have taken place internally or around us. We are not being asked to rush into the next chapter. We are being invited to notice what has shifted and to become more deliberate about where we place our time, care and energy.

Virgo is associated with health, healing, discernment and the practical details of everyday life. It reminds us that our daily routines are not separate from our inner work: the way we nourish our bodies, manage our responsibilities, organize our environment and respond to stress reflects what we value. This New Moon offers an opportunity to look honestly at the systems holding our lives together. 𝘈𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘵𝘳𝘶𝘭𝘺 𝘴𝘶𝘱𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘸𝘦𝘭𝘭𝘣𝘦𝘪𝘯𝘨, 𝘰𝘳 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘺 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘴 𝘧𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘯𝘨?

It also brings our relationship with work, responsibility and service into focus. Many of us have become so accustomed to being useful, available and dependable that we no longer notice 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗰𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆. Virgo teaches us that caring for others can only remain healthy when it includes 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘃𝗲𝘀. Sustainable service does not require self-sacrifice; it asks for clearer priorities, healthier boundaries and respect for the body’s signals.

At the same time, Mercury moves into Libra, Venus enters Scorpio, and Uranus stations retrograde in Gemini. With Mercury, Venus and Chiron activating the powerful 0° point, new cycles are beginning around how we think, communicate, relate, love and experience our own worth.

Mercury in Libra encourages us to consider another perspective and communicate with greater awareness. Its connection with Uranus and Pluto may bring sudden insights or reveal something we had not previously been able to understand. However, its opposition to Neptune reminds us to remain grounded: intuition can be valuable, but assumptions, confusion or wishful thinking may cloud the picture. Pause before reacting, ask questions and allow clarity to emerge in its own time.

Venus in Scorpio takes us beneath the surface, revealing deeper patterns around trust, attachment, intimacy, money and emotional security. Her connections with Chiron and Pluto may bring tender feelings or old wounds into awareness, particularly those affecting our ability to receive love, feel safe in closeness or remain connected to ourselves within a relationship. The purpose is not to reopen the past unnecessarily, but to 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘨𝘯𝘪𝘻𝘦 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘪𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘣𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘧𝘭𝘶𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴.

Uranus turning retrograde in Gemini invites a more internal revolution. We may begin to question ideas, beliefs or stories that once made sense but no longer fit who we are becoming. A shift in perspective can change much more than our thoughts: it can alter the way we communicate, make decisions and understand our place in the world.

The New Moon also forms a supportive connection with Mars in Cancer, helping us translate emotional awareness into practical action. Mars in Cancer wants to protect what matters and create greater emotional safety. We may feel more motivated to adjust the habits, environments or commitments that are draining us and choose what offers genuine nourishment. As Mars moves away from a challenging connection with Saturn, something that recently felt blocked may slowly begin to feel possible again.

This is not about finding more things to fix within yourself. Virgo’s shadow can make us overly critical, perfectionistic or convinced that we must improve before we are worthy. Its higher expression is refinement: recognizing what could work better while still meeting ourselves with compassion.

You may wish to reflect on:

• What am I beginning to see differently?
• Which habits genuinely support my physical and emotional wellbeing?
• What old story about myself am I ready to question?
• Where am I giving more than is sustainable?
• What am I truly ready to release?
• What small, realistic change would bring my daily life closer to what I genuinely need?

For this New Moon, give yourself 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗮 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗹𝗲. Soften your body. Slow your breathing. Allow whatever is present to be felt without immediately analyzing, judging or trying to fix it.

Perhaps focus your attention on something simple and beautiful: a spring flower, a tree moving in the breeze, the warmth of sunlight or the steady rhythm of your breath. Let this become a reminder that growth does not need to be forced. When we create a safe and nurturing inner space, old tension can begin to soften and something new can gradually take root.

Then choose 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘴𝘪𝘮𝘱𝘭𝘦 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯: something gentle enough to practice consistently and meaningful enough to make a difference.

You do not have to transform your entire life overnight. Sometimes the most powerful new beginning is simply choosing to care for yourself differently, one day at a time.

With love and gratitude.

There is a difference between silence around us and silence within us.

A quiet mind does not mean having no thoughts.

It means being able to notice them without being constantly pulled into them.

When we create more inner stillness, we give the nervous system a chance to settle. We can think more clearly, focus more easily, listen to what our body is telling us and respond rather than react.

Even our breathing, muscle tension and overall sense of wellbeing can begin to soften.

And perhaps one of the greatest benefits of inner quiet is that we become more present: with ourselves, with others, and with the life that is actually happening right now.

Sometimes wellbeing is not about doing more.

It is about creating enough quiet to hear what you need.

With love and gratitude.

"Neuroscience and relationship psychology have observed something fascinating.

Your nervous system isn't primarily designed to seek happiness.

Its first priority is survival and internal continuity.

That's why it tends to maintain states it already knows, even when those states don't make you feel better.

And to the brain, what is familiar can feel safer than what is new.

That's why we sometimes repeat certain dynamics without consciously choosing them.

We repeat them because the body recognizes them."

When you are a therapist or healthcare practitioner, you never really stop learning. There is always another tool to add to your toolbox, another way to adapt what you already know, and another technique that may help someone move towards greater health and wellbeing in their everyday life.

Even after many years of experience, I am still curious. I love learning. I believe there is always something new to discover that could make a meaningful difference to my clients, even if it is just the one person.

So, when my fellow kinesiologist Intune Animals & Humans - Heidi Johnson shared the EMMETT workshop she was facilitating, I naturally joined her.

The workshop introduced us to simple, gentle and effective hands-on techniques designed to release muscle tension, ease pain and encourage greater comfort and freedom of movement. The EMMETT Technique can create changes that you may notice quite quickly, making it a valuable addition to the therapies I already offer.

It was a lovely day of learning and connecting with other practitioners, and I am looking forward to incorporating these new techniques into my sessions where they will best support my clients.

𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝘂𝗰𝗵 𝗮 𝗯𝗲𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲. It always makes me feel more alive, perhaps because I am a spring baby… at least in the Northern Hemisphere. 😀

And although spring officially begins around the 21st September, it is always lovely to welcome it a little earlier, as we traditionally do in South Africa. 🌺

As we slowly move from the heaviness and sleepiness of winter to a gentle waking up with a little more light, a little more energy, and the gentle desire to begin again, spring reminds us that change, sometimes, begins quietly.

As the days grow longer and warmer, our bodies also respond to the change in season. Increased exposure to natural light helps regulate our circadian rhythm, the internal clock that influences sleep, energy, mood, appetite and hormone production.

For some, this may bring improved motivation, mental clarity and a natural desire to move more, spend time outdoors or reconnect socially.

However, seasonal transitions can also require a period of adjustment. Changes in daylight and temperature may temporarily affect sleep, energy levels, concentration and emotional balance.

Spring pollen can trigger allergies, sinus congestion, headaches and fatigue, while warmer weather may increase our need for hydration. We may feel inspired and energised one day, yet unusually tired or unsettled the next.

Psychologically, spring often awakens the desire to clear out, make changes and start something new. It can feel wonderfully hopeful, but it may also highlight where we feel stuck, disconnected or not quite ready to move forward. There is no need to force yourself to “spring back” simply because the season has changed.

𝙎𝙪𝙥𝙥𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙜𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 through the transition. Spend time in natural morning light, move in ways that feel good, drink enough water, choose fresh and nourishing foods, protect your sleep and give yourself permission to adjust at your own pace.

Just as nature does not rush its blooming, neither should you. 🌸

𝗛𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆 𝗦𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗗𝗮𝘆 from Being Well, with Bérénice!

May this new season bring fresh energy, gentle renewal and a beautiful return to yourself. ❤️

With love and gratitude.

I love this. 😍

I'm the kind of girl who tends to see the beauty all around me. And I will, more often than not, see the world as a beautiful garden. 🌾🌻🪷

The way we look at our world influences the way we experience it.

This happens not only psychologically, but also physically in the brain. When we live with stress for too long, our nervous system becomes increasingly tuned to look for danger.

One of the key areas involved is the amygdala, the part of the brain that helps detect threat and activate our emotional and survival responses.
With prolonged stress, the amygdala can become more reactive and more sensitive to potential threats.
Research also suggests that chronic stress can produce structural and functional changes within the amygdala and the wider brain networks involved in regulating our stress response.

In everyday life, this can mean that we become quicker to notice what is wrong.

The difficult comment.
The worried thought.
The possibility that something might go badly.
The thing we haven't finished.
The expression on someone's face that we interpret negatively...

The nervous system becomes very good at searching for the next problem.

At the same time, chronic stress can make it harder for the areas of the brain involved in perspective, emotional regulation and thoughtful decision-making to effectively put the brakes on that alarm response.

So when someone has been living in survival mode for a long time, “look on the bright side” isn't necessarily an easy thing to do. Their brain may genuinely have become better at scanning for the weeds than noticing the flowers.

And this is where therapeutic work, in its many forms, can be so valuable.

Nervous system regulation, mindfulness, movement, breathing, supportive connection, reframing and other therapeutic approaches can help us gradually create more experiences of safety. We begin teaching the nervous system that it doesn't have to remain on high alert all the time.

And little by little, our field of vision can widen again. It is not about pretending the difficult things aren't there. But rather learning to notice what is also there:

The person who made you smile. 😀
The small thing that went right. 🤩
The moment your shoulders dropped. 😊
The beauty you walked past yesterday without seeing. 🦋
The fact that you coped with something that once would have overwhelmed you. ❤️

It can be as simple as noticing the birds in your garden, or the flower among the weeds. 🐦🪻

Perhaps the garden was there all along.

We simply couldn't see all of it while our system was busy looking for danger.

Today, ask yourself:

What is good, beautiful or quietly going right in my world that my stressed brain may have forgotten to notice?

With love and gratitude.

𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙙𝙮 𝙛𝙤𝙧 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙁𝙪𝙡𝙡 𝙈𝙤𝙤𝙣?? 😁🌑

On the 28th August 2026, we are set to experience a powerful 𝗙𝘂𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗿 𝗘𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘀𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗲𝘀, opposite the Sun in Virgo. Although technically partial, this is a very deep eclipse, with more than 96% of the Moon passing through the Earth’s darkest shadow. It is all about 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗼𝗻𝗴𝗲𝗿 𝗯𝗲 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗱.

I hope you are ready for a long read - but totally worth it!

This eclipse arrives just over two weeks after the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo on 12 August. While that eclipse planted the seeds of renewal and a more authentic way of expressing ourselves, this Pisces Lunar Eclipse asks us to 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗱𝗲𝗱 for those new beginnings to grow.
Every new chapter requires us to release something from the old one.

Full Moons bring emotions, situations and realisations to the surface. Lunar eclipses intensify this process, often accelerating something that has been quietly developing beneath our awareness. They can coincide with endings, emotional breakthroughs or important turning points.

What is revealed may feel sudden, but it is rarely completely new.

More often, an eclipse 𝘪𝘭𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘭𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘴𝘦𝘯𝘴𝘦𝘥 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘮𝘢𝘺 𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘺𝘦𝘵 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘥𝘺 𝘵𝘰 𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸𝘭𝘦𝘥𝘨𝘦.

This is the final Pisces eclipse in the cycle that began in September 2024, bringing a longer story around boundaries, trust, control, surrender and emotional wellbeing towards completion. We are closing a chapter.

Think back over the past two years:
Where have you been learning to trust yourself more deeply?
Where have you needed to establish clearer boundaries?
What have you discovered about the relationship between your emotional wellbeing and your physical body?

Perhaps you have been learning that caring for others does not require abandoning yourself. Perhaps you have begun releasing the belief that you must always be useful, productive or in control. Or perhaps a dream, relationship, identity or familiar way of coping has slowly been dissolving because it no longer belongs in the life you are creating.
The ending may not be dramatic. It may simply arrive as a quiet knowing: 𝘐 𝘤𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘰𝘵 𝘤𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘶𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘳𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘢𝘮𝘦 𝘸𝘢𝘺.

This Full Moon also highlights the relationship between two very different ways of approaching life: the fine balance between doing and allowing.
Virgo wants to understand, organize, improve and find a practical solution. Pisces reminds us that not everything can be analyzed, repaired or controlled. Some things must be 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝘁. Some answers arrive through 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 rather than logic. Some situations are healed not by trying harder, but by accepting what is and allowing ourselves to let go.
One asks (Virgo): What needs to be done?
The other asks (Pisces): What needs to be surrendered?

This eclipse may show us where we have become caught between overthinking and avoidance, between trying to control every detail and feeling too overwhelmed to act.
The opportunity lies in bringing the two together: listening to our intuition while remaining grounded, allowing emotion without becoming consumed by it, and combining compassion with discernment and practical action.

Surrender does not mean giving up. It means recognizing where continued resistance is costing us more than release would.

You may know that Pisces is deeply connected to intuition, emotion, imagination and everything we sense but cannot always explain. Around this eclipse, we may feel more tired, emotional, nostalgic or sensitive to people and environments. Dreams may become vivid. Memories may resurface. We may feel the need to withdraw, rest, cry, create or spend time near water.

Emotions that have been ignored, minimized or pushed aside may now ask for our attention. This is not necessarily a sign that something is wrong. It may simply mean that we are finally ready to feel and process what could not be fully acknowledged before.

The body may also communicate more clearly through tension, fatigue, disrupted sleep, emotional overwhelm or a need for more space. 𝗟𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗻 𝗴𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗹𝘆. The body often notices that we have reached our limit before the mind is ready to admit it.

At the same time, not every feeling needs to become a decision. Heightened sensitivity can make it difficult to distinguish between intuition, fear, projection and wishful thinking. Allow yourself to feel what arises without needing to understand or act upon everything immediately. Let the information settle.

And then, this eclipse also highlights the dialogue between the analytical mind and the emotional body.
We may become more aware of the stories we tell ourselves about what we feel.
Do we analyze our emotions instead of experiencing them? Do we doubt our own perception? Do we dismiss what the body is communicating because it does not appear logical?
Reason and intuition are not enemies. We need both.
The mind can help us evaluate, organize and choose an appropriate response.

Our emotions can reveal what matters, where something hurts and where a boundary may have been crossed.
This is a time to notice whether the mind is helping you understand your emotions or simply helping you avoid them.

Be 𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗳𝘂𝗹, too, of the information you consume and the conversations you participate in. When the 𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 is already sensitive, constant noise, distressing news or conflicting opinions can create further overwhelm. 𝑫𝒊𝒔𝒄𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 is not only about deciding what is true. It is also about deciding what deserves access to your energy.

As if all of the above wasn’t enough 😁, there is an 𝘂𝗻𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 quality surrounding this eclipse. Plans may change. A conversation may reveal something unexpected. A new piece of information may suddenly alter the way we see a situation. We may also feel a strong urge to break free from draining relationships, professional situations or personal patterns.
What has felt familiar or stable may begin to shift, asking us to become more flexible and less attached to how we thought things should unfold.
Sometimes disruption is not life falling apart. It is life, interrupting a pattern that has kept us stuck.

However, sudden awareness can overstimulate the nervous system and make us feel restless, reactive or desperate for immediate change. 𝗣𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗯𝗲𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗿𝗿𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗶𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Give yourself time to separate a genuine inner knowing from a temporary emotional surge.

I love the Pisces energy. One of the deepest lessons of Pisces is 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻. And yet, compassion 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘵 𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘯𝘥𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘦𝘴 can become rescuing, overgiving, emotional exhaustion or losing ourselves in another person’s needs.

This eclipse may illuminate where we have confused love with sacrifice, forgiveness with continued access, empathy with responsibility, or loyalty with remaining in a situation that repeatedly hurts us.

You can understand why someone behaves as they do and still choose not to participate in the pattern.
You can love someone and protect your peace. You can forgive without returning to the same situation. You can be deeply compassionate without carrying what belongs to somebody else.

It may also be time to 𝗿𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 to suffering itself: the old story, identity, dependency or belief that has kept us connected to a wound long after the original experience has passed.
You are not denying what happened. You are choosing not to let it remain the author of everything that happens next.

The surrender asked of us now is not an ending for the sake of an ending. It is the space through which 𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘄𝗮𝗹 becomes possible.
As old dreams, expectations and illusions dissolve, something more honest can begin to take shape. We may not yet know exactly what the new chapter will look like, but we can feel when the old one no longer fits.

This eclipse encourages us to release our attachment to outdated versions of ourselves and to the roles, beliefs and expectations that keep us anchored in the past. It asks us to trust that making space is itself a form of forward movement.
We cannot welcome something new while using all our energy to hold together what has already run its course.

𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝘁𝗼 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗲𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗽𝘀𝗲
Eclipse energy can feel powerful and unpredictable, so this is not necessarily a time to force an outcome. Allow the eclipse to reveal rather than trying to direct it.

In the days surrounding it:
• Slow down and leave more space in your schedule where possible.
• Pay attention to dreams, emotions and bodily sensations.
• Reduce unnecessary noise and overstimulation.
• Spend time near water or take a mindful bath or shower.
• Journal without trying to edit or immediately solve what emerges.
• Rest before reaching exhaustion.
• Avoid making major decisions from emotional urgency.
• Ask whether something needs fixing, accepting or releasing.
• Create one practical boundary around your time, energy or emotional availability.
• Allow your intuition to guide you, but give important insights time to settle.

A gentle question to sit with is:
What am I ready to stop carrying, even if I do not yet know what will take its place?

𝘈 𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘴𝘢𝘨𝘦 𝘧𝘳𝘰𝘮 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘗𝘪𝘴𝘤𝘦𝘴 𝘔𝘰𝘰𝘯: you do not need to understand every part of the journey before allowing yourself to take the next step.

Some chapters close through choice. Others dissolve quietly when we finally stop feeding them with our energy. This eclipse reminds us that healing is not always about doing more. Sometimes it begins when we soften our grip, listen to what the body and heart have been saying, and trust that release can create space for something more aligned.

Let the tears come if they need to. Let the truth rise gently.
Let the old story return to the ocean.

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐭 𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐥𝐚𝐮𝐠𝐡?

Not the polite little laugh.
Not the restrained exclamation of joy.
The kind of laughter that takes over your whole body, makes your eyes water, and leaves you feeling lighter afterwards. 😀

Joy and laughter are not frivolous. They are part of our well-being.

When we laugh, even briefly, something shifts. Muscle tension can soften, breathing changes, circulation increases and the body may move away from a heightened stress response.

Laughter is also associated with the release of feel-good neurochemicals such as endorphins and can help reduce our perception of stress.

Psycho-emotionally, joy gives us a break from constantly scanning, managing, worrying and doing. It creates moments where the nervous system receives a different message: 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗻𝗼𝘄, 𝗜 𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗸𝗮𝘆. 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝘀𝗼𝗳𝘁𝗲𝗻. 𝗜 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗻𝗷𝗼𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁.

And perhaps that is why this quote speaks to me so much: laughter is light, and light makes us lighter.

So a little check-in today...

😄 When did you last laugh until your stomach hurt?
😄 When did you last do something simply because it brought you joy?
😄 Have you become so busy taking care of life, or everyone else, that you have forgotten what makes you feel alive?
😄 Do you allow yourself joy even when everything isn't perfect?
😄 And if you haven't laughed much lately... 𝘄𝗵𝘆? What has been taking up that space?

Sometimes self-care is not only about what we need to heal or work through.
Sometimes it is also about gently creating more room for what makes us feel good, connected and alive.

Perhaps your little prescription for today is simply this:
𝙁𝙞𝙣𝙙 𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙩𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙢𝙖𝙠𝙚𝙨 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙨𝙢𝙞𝙡𝙚.
One person who makes you laugh.
One moment that feels good... and allow yourself to fully be in it.

And if it feels as though stress, overwhelm or emotional load have made it difficult to access that lighter part of yourself lately, this is something we can gently work with together. 🤗
