Still stretching the same thing?

You stretch it.

It feels better.

Then a few days later… you're back where you started.

If you keep finding yourself stretching, massaging, or strengthening the same area without actually resolving the problem, it may be worth looking beyond the place that feels tight.

Lyno looks at the movement patterns your entire body has developed and the restrictions that may be contributing to a problem that keeps returning.

So rather than simply asking:

“How do I loosen this?”

we say:

“Why does my body keep returning to this pattern?” and "Let's change that to something better!"

If that's something you've been dealing with, I'd be happy to take a closer look.

The same pain doesn't always mean the same problem.

As a surfer myself, I used to think improving meant finding the right exercise, stretching more, or simply training harder.

But after years of working on my own surfing and working with other surfers, I started noticing something interesting:

Two surfers can have exactly the same shoulder pain, but completely different movement patterns underneath it.

One might be compensating for an old injury.
Another may have gradually adapted to the way they paddle.
Someone else may be carrying tension from somewhere completely different.

The pain can look and feel the same.

The story underneath it isn't.

That changed the way I started looking at surfing — and at the body.

Instead of only asking:

"Where does it hurt?"

I'm much more interested in:

"Why has your body started moving this way?"

Because your body isn't necessarily failing you.

Often, it's adapting.

To injury.
To repetition.
To fatigue.
To stress.
To the demands you place on it every time you paddle out.

Sometimes the restriction you feel in your shoulder isn't where the story begins.

And sometimes, stretching it harder isn't what your body needs.

The interesting part is understanding what your body has been doing to compensate — and why.

That's one of the things I love about working with surfers through the Lyno Method.

Not simply trying to make a painful area feel better, but understanding the movement pattern underneath it.

Your body has a reason for moving the way it does.

The question is:

Do you know what yours is?

Your body remembers.

Not just injuries.

It remembers stress.
Repetition.
Compensation.

The countless small adaptations you've made over the years without even realizing it.

Winter has a way of bringing those patterns to the surface.
The shoulder that tightens.

The lower back that complains.
The hip that never quite feels the same.

Often, these aren't random problems appearing out of nowhere. They're signals from a body that has been adapting for a long time.

Lyno works with the body's natural intelligence (and autonomic nervous system) to help identify and release patterns that may be limiting how you move and feel.

Whether you're surfing, training, working, or simply trying to stay active and comfortable, your entire body deserves attention before it demands it.

Winter has a way of exposing what your body has been compensating for.

The old injury that starts complaining again.
The stiffness that makes movement feel harder.
The tension you’ve learned to ignore.

Your body is always communicating.

Lyno is designed to help you reconnect with your body, release patterns of tension, and restore greater freedom of movement — so you can keep doing the things that make you feel alive.

For me, that means surfing, staying active, and being able to show up fully for the people I care about.

What does it mean for you?

Maybe it’s moving without that constant ache.
Maybe it’s getting back to an activity you love.
Maybe it’s simply feeling more comfortable in your own body.

Your body deserves attention before it demands it.

Something is happening in the Kirstenhof / Retreat area.
A newly converted space bringing together padel, gym training, and performance-focused recovery — all in one place.
I’ll now be working from The Retreat two days a week, alongside a chiro, physio, sports massage therapist, and biokineticist.
It’s quickly becoming a hub for people who want their bodies to actually work — not just get by.
What I do (Lyno):
Most people think they need to stretch or loosen something.
Usually, the real issue is how the body is moving — and why it keeps compensating.
So instead of chasing symptoms, we change the pattern.
This tends to work best if you have:
• tight hamstrings that never improve
• recurring back or knee pain
• shoulder issues affecting gym or surfing
• stiffness that keeps coming back
Most people I work with have already tried physio, massage, or stretching — but the problem returns.
For May only:
Limited intake at The Retreat
→ 3 sessions for R1850
→ Includes a 90-min initial + 2 follow-ups
Designed to actually shift something — not just short-term relief.
Who this is for:
You train, surf, run, play golf or padel — and something keeps holding you back.
You sit a lot, but don’t want your body to feel like it.
You’ve had a “niggle” for months (or years) that never fully resolves.
If you’ve been putting something off in your body, this is a good time to deal with it properly.
Message me and I’ll send details + availability.
“Will this help if I’ve had this issue for years?”
→ That’s usually exactly who this is for.
