Being a part of a mother’s journey is a privilege I never take for granted. Walking alongside you from those tentative first-trimester scans to the moment you hold your baby in your arms is easily the best part of my job.

As an obstetrician, a safe delivery band a happy family are the only “gifts” I ever expect. But I have to admit, my heart does a little dance whenever a beautiful handwritten card or a joyful bunch of flowers arrives at my rooms.

To the incredible families here in Cape Town who have shared their journeys with me: please know that every single gesture is so deeply appreciated. Your kindness keeps our team inspired every single day.
