“It is health that is real wealth and not pieces of gold and silver.”
– Mahatma Gandhi

After having spent over a decade working in the financial services industry, the sheer frustration I experienced with numerous health setbacks over the past six years and getting no results from conventional medicine led me to explore the world of natural health practi

ces and alternative therapies – originally just for myself, and then after being absolutely blown away by my own personal results, developing a career out of it in the hopes that I can help many others on their healing journey back to perfect health – each person’s God-given right. Having suffered from various ‘auto-immune’ symptoms which were debilitating at times, I did as anyone else in my situation would do: I went to specialist, after specialist, had blood test, after blood test, and took any form of medication that was suggested & prescribed in the attempt of relieving the pain and wishfully reversing the symptoms. Six years later and getting progressively worse with each passing year, the suggestions “time to get your head around spending the rest of your life on cortisone” and heaven forbid, “worst case scenario, possible amputation in years to come”, were the proverbial straw that broke this camel’s back and from then I decided that there had to be alternative, less invasive options out there…

Since then I’ve met some incredible people, been guided by the books of some profound healers, all of whom have taught me so much about the power of food to heal our bodies as well as introduced me to the plethora of natural health practices and alternative therapies. Today, I’m thrilled to announce that I’m almost fully healed of my ‘auto-immune’ symptoms…I’ve thrown out my reading glasses, my thyroid has entirely corrected itself, my liver is effortlessly detoxing on its own, the circulation in my fingers and toes has almost returned to normal, I no longer have adrenal fatigue, and I have more energy than I’ve had for as long as I can remember!! I honestly feel better than I did in my early twenties…all this due to the magical mix of pure wholesome food, regular exercise, being open-minded to explore new approaches to healing and the perseverance to keep going & believing in my healing.

🌿Feeling stuck with ongoing health symptoms?

Many of the people who come to see me feel overwhelmed by persistent symptoms and don’t know where to start anymore.

I’m a Functional Medicine Health Coach based in Tokai, Cape Town, and in my consultations I combine:

• detailed health history
• functional medicine principles
• non-invasive bioresonance scans (Quantum & BodySonic)
• practical lifestyle and nutrition guidance

The goal of the first session is not to fix everything at once, but to identify patterns, stabilize the system, and create a realistic starting point for improving wellbeing.

Sessions are calm, collaborative, and focused on what’s actually doable in everyday life.

I currently have a few openings for new clients over the next couple of weeks.

If you’d like to learn more about how this approach works, you’re welcome to send me a message or visit:

✨The kind of peace you don’t find - you create✨
Infrared saunas do more than make you sweat - they gently support your body’s circulation, recovery, and relaxation from within💫
Here’s what regular sessions can do for you👇
💓1. Support heart & circulation health
Infrared heat gently raises your heart rate - similar to light cardio - improving blood flow and supporting vascular health over time.
🔥2. Ease muscle & joint discomfort
Increased circulation helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to sore or stiff areas, promoting faster recovery after exercise or long days.
💆‍♀️3. Encourage deep relaxation & better sleep
Heat exposure calms the nervous system and helps lower stress hormones - leaving you relaxed, grounded, and ready for restorative sleep.
✨4. Promote a healthy, radiant glow
Improved circulation nourishes skin cells and may support collagen formation for a clearer, refreshed complexion.
💧5. Lightly support detox pathways
Sweating helps release small amounts of heavy metals and metabolic waste - complementing your liver and kidneys’ natural detox work.
⚡6. Boost post-exercise recovery
Regular use may reduce inflammation and muscle soreness, helping your body bounce back faster.
💡Tip: Aim for 20–30 minutes, 2–3 times per week at 45–55°C. Hydrate well and listen to your body.
✨Infrared sauna = gentle heat, deep restoration.✨
💬Have you tried an infrared sauna yet? I’d love to know how it makes you feel!

Today’s a good day to devour kiwis (in more ways than one!)🥝😉

These furry brown nuggets of delicious green goodness pack a punch with their vitamin C content (upto 85% of our recommended daily intake!) and provide a wealth of health benefits i.e. helping to balance blood sugar levels, stress support, reducing digestive discomfort from symptoms such as acid reflux, gas and bloating, and they’re even touted as having antibacterial, antiparasitic as well as antifungal properties!
An added bonus (especially for today, if you’re South African 🇿🇦🏈🏆🇳🇿) is that they provide high-quality bioavailable glucose to feed the neurons in your brain – adding that extra value in high stress situations!👏🏻🌟

So, in the spirit of all things green & gold today, I thought I’d share this delicious smoothie which provides a nourishing breakfast, lunch or even snack for tonight’s all important game…

❤️ 2 kiwis peeled and chopped
🤍 2 handfuls of baby spinach
💙 1 banana (frozen)
💚 1 ½ cups of pineapple chunks
💛 ½ cup of coconut milk/water (you can substitute this for ½ cup of Greek yoghurt – then just add ¼ cup of water to thin it out)
🖤 1 teaspoon of raw honey… to bring in some golden goodness

Add all of the above to your blender, and blend until smooth. Add more water if needed.
Enjoy….and Go Bokke!💪🏻🏈🏆🇿🇦

“Once you stop learning, you start dying.” – Albert Einstein

I’m so excited to announce that I have been accepted to study at The School of Applied Functional Medicine ("SAFM").
I’ve been contemplating this certification for a few years now, but the timing was never quite right. Next week I get to exercise my love of learning and finally embark on this exciting journey!

Even though there’s an intense few years of studying ahead, I cannot wait to be able to serve my clients better with the power of functional medicine and the confidence to use that knowledge, as part of the greater mission of healthcare transformation!

Please note that I’ll be working on this certification part-time so I will continue to serve my existing clients to the best of my abilities whilst taking on new clients too🙏❤️

Are you deficient in Vitamin J?

Vitamin J, a.k.a. Vitamin ‘Joy’ may in fact be one of the most important vitamins for supporting our mental, spiritual and physical health. Sadly, in this day and age far too many people are lacking this critical vitamin which cannot be found in pill form in any supplements section of our health store.
Nope, this life-giving vitamin can’t be artificially manufactured, however the activities we choose to partake in and the attitudes we choose to maintain go a long way to helping our body to produce this critical vitamin.
Family time, spending time in nature, connecting with friends, travelling, dancing, and / or whatever else gets you smiling are sure-fire ways to boost your body’s supply of this essential vitamin.

This was my family & I boosting our supply of vitamin J with a hot air balloon ride over the Cape Winelands with Ballooning Cape Town early this morning as we celebrated my in-laws’ 50th wedding anniversary.
How did you get your vitamin J today / this weekend?

It’s exam time in our home so every attempt is made to create a conducive study environment.
Aside from a space free from noise & distraction, brain-boosting snacks, regular study breaks outdoors and keeping well hydrated, my boys have recently found this invigorating diffuser blend to be a winner for helping to provide them with extra focus & concentration – especially for those late afternoon study sessions 📚💪🧠
The recipe includes:
🌿3 drops of Rosemary essential oil,
🌿2 drops of Peppermint essential oil and
🌿1 drop of Basil essential oil
in an ultrasonic cool-air diffuser filled with distilled water, creating a fine airborne mist of focused energy.
Best of luck to everyone else studying for & writing exams right now🍀💚

Life is all about balance…⚖️

One aspect where maintaining balance is crucial to our overall health & wellbeing is that of our blood sugar, something that I’m seeing so many people struggle with lately😕
The term “blood sugar” refers to the amount of glucose (sugar) present in our bloodstream at any given time - glucose, being the body’s primary source of energy.

Balanced blood sugar helps to keep our mood balanced and our energy levels stable. It also helps to ensure the health & wellbeing of our brain, pancreas, liver, adrenals as well as our nervous system!
On the other hand, an imbalance in our blood sugar can lead to increased sugar cravings, poor sleep, irritability, anxiety, brain fog, weight gain, low energy and eventually, over time, dis-ease.
We therefore feel our best when our blood sugar is balanced.

A few things known to create an imbalance include:
❌ Going without food for too long a time (ever heard of the term ‘hangry’?)
❌ Eating poor quality foods, i.e., nutrient-deficient, processed foods which no sooner raise your blood sugar then have you experiencing a blood sugar crash.
❌ Not getting adequate sleep.

We therefore want to strive to maintain a balanced blood sugar at all times, and in doing so protect our pancreas, our liver, our adrenals, and now more than ever, our nervous system...

What better way to start the day on a good footing by treating yourself to a delicious smoothie that not only helps to balance your blood sugar and keeps you full & satiated for a good while but is also filled with nutrient dense, healing fruits & spices!
Introducing the Medical Medium Apple Pie Smoothie🍎🥧🥤

Apples hydrate on a cellular level as they provide healing, living water to the body. They help to starve out bacteria, yeast, mould, other fungi, and viruses from the intestinal tract and liver.

Bananas provide quick, healing fuel to the body.

Dates help to remineralize the body. The intestinal tract builds up mucus due to low hydrochloric acid and bile production, and that can slow down the absorption of nutrients into the bloodstream. Dates help to expel and eliminate the mucus. The sugars in dates feed the liver; they’re a great source of glucose for recovery and restoration that allows the liver to maximize its over 2,000 chemical functions.
Ingredients:
- 2 medium-sized red apples, cored and cut into chunks
- 1 frozen banana
- 1 cup unsweetened almond or coconut milk (I prefer to use 1 cup of water)
- 1 medjool date (or 1 tbsp pure maple syrup)
- ¾ tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground ginger
- Pinch of ground nutmeg
Place all the ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Add more almond milk (or water) if needed.
Serve & enjoy your guilt-free ‘apple pie’!

P.S. Happy Women’s Day to all of you lovely ladies💞💐

It's Tea Thyme! 🌿☕️

Winter sure has arrived here in Cape Town bringing with it a host of new bugs and illness (we won’t even mention the ongoing pandemic!)
One little herb proving to be a superstar in the fight against pathogens is that of the humble thyme!
A rich source of many essential vitamins and minerals and containing antiseptic, antiviral, antibacterial, carminative, diaphoretic as well as expectorant properties, thyme is a great purifying herb for the entire body.
This powerful herb helps to clear mucus from your lungs, alleviates coughs, calms the nervous system (thanks to the compound it contains called carvacrol), it helps to reduce a fever and can even balance sleeping patterns and provide mood & stress support as it’s a good source of pyridoxine - a required coenzyme for the synthesis of dopamine, epinephrine, GABA, melatonin, norepinephrine, and serotonin!
Readily available in the produce section of our local food stores, thyme is also quite easy to grow at home. I’ve no doubt that you already know that it’s delicious added to vegetables, salads, soups, and many pasta dishes but did you know that fresh thyme can be used to make a potent, healing tea?

To further boost my immune system in these colder months I like to regularly incorporate thyme tea into my daily regime.
It’s so simple...I merely steep a handful of fresh sprigs of thyme in a cup of hot water for approximately 15 minutes, strain the tea and drink it as is. If you prefer it sweet, adding a little raw honey or organic maple syrup would be great options that won’t detract from the tea’s healing benefits.

While we’re talking about this therapeutic herb, it’s worth noting that thyme essential oil (also featured here) works great topically as a local antiseptic and antimicrobial and it’s been said that this precious oil can even help to stop hair loss by improving blood flow to the scalp and feeding the roots of the hair!

Don’t you think it’s thyme to add a little more of this purifying herb to your life? 🌿💚

Happy Mother’s Day! I hope you’re all having a super special day with your little (or not-so-little) ones, fur-children included🤗💖💐
Today we’re stocking up on some of our favourite fruits and veggies from Oranjezicht Farmers Market
First on our list are pomegranates... Packed with antioxidants but did you know that the red jewel-like, juicy seeds within are not only beneficial for dissolving gallstones, kidney stones, nodules, calcifications and ganglia cysts but they also have anti-tumour properties!
Pomegranates are known to be great blood builders, strengthening both red and white cell counts – superstars for our immune system! These healing gems are also helpful for improving circulation, balancing our adrenals, stabilizing our blood sugar and their high-quality glucose is great for our brain, helping with focus and concentration. Pomegranates act like a natural aspirin in the body and help to prevent blood clots.
Sprinkled on salads, added to wraps, a stir-fry, even hummus, these gem-like seeds are super versatile and if you’re concerned about excessive hunger, overeating and/or weight gain, eating pomegranate seeds before a meal will act as an appetite suppressant.
Rich in vitamin C, K, B-complex and minerals such as iron, manganese chromium and potassium, pomegranates are one of the healthiest and most healing fruits available today! 🌟
