Childhood trauma often does not end when childhood ends. In adulthood, it can show up as chronic exhaustion, difficulty trusting others, people-pleasing, anxiety, perfectionism, emotional numbness, or a constant sense that something is wrong even when life looks stable from the outside.
As the life coach and energy healer behind SoulShift Healing, I work with women who have lived through abuse, neglect, bullying, abandonment, or emotional invalidation. Many of us learn early to stay quiet, stay useful, and stay alert. As adults, those survival patterns can look like strength to other people, but they often come with a cost: overthinking every interaction, struggling to set boundaries, feeling responsible for everyone else’s emotions, or finding it hard to feel safe in our own bodies.
Trauma is not only a memory of what happened. It can affect the nervous system, shape beliefs about self-worth, and influence how a person responds to stress, relationships, and conflict long after the original experience has passed.
Healing does not always require remembering every detail. For many people, it begins with recognising the patterns, understanding how trauma has affected the body and mind, and creating enough safety to stop living in constant survival mode.
If you experienced childhood trauma and have spent years coping, minimising, or holding everything together for everyone else, please know this:
You are not weak for struggling.
You are not broken because you were hurt.
And you do not have to keep carrying the effects of your childhood alone.
Healing is possible.
Feeling safer in your body is possible.
Building a life that is not organised around survival is possible.
I created SoulShift Healing as a safe, private, confidential space for women who are ready to begin that process with me.
If this reflects your experience, you are welcome to send me a private message. You do not have to navigate this alone.
