And both and smashed it, getting PBs!
What a beautiful event to be apart of.

Blue lagoon triathlon 🏊🚲🏃🏼‍♀️
Nothing compares to being out there doing all three disciplines at once.
The swim was lovely, however sometimes feeling like a washing a machine with so many swimmers at the same time.
The bike was super windy heading back as there was a head wind of 30-40km/h, try cycling in that - you can never take a break otherwise risk getting blown off your bike 🙂
The run was a 2.5km hilly loop, let’s just say this was bearable. The aid station was placed in the right spot to get you through to the end of every lap and eventually to the finish where you were greeted with so much support, a medal, far/fast bars and lots of water - which we sneakily add our .revive to 🫡

What a way to spend Valentine’s Day 💁🏼‍♀️🌹

Overberg Tour Day 5 (last day) ☀️
Greyton ➡️ Caledon (42km)
Some comments from our fellow riders for the last day of the tour:andrew.1 “thank goodness today was the shortest distance since it was the last day and we needed a reprieve from the previous days🥵”
“it was a really good day out🚵🏼‍♂️”andrew “a very different way to spend Christmas but some good quality family time🎄”
“amazing route planning with one blocked road and being p*** hot out there, but can’t forget about the brekkie which was a win🍳”
“felt good on the uphills this time with no mental breakdowns (woohoo) however the head wind pi**ed me off in the last 4km🫨”

All in all another great adventure with this bunch. Seeing the Overberg from a different perspective being on the bike beats it all☀️⛰️🚴🏼‍♀️
As much as there were some struggles, we got through it together. Family time is truly the best time, especially when out on the road doing the things we love!

Watch this space for our next adventure 🤫

Overberg Tour Day 4 ☀️
Bredasdorp ➡️ Greyton (90km)
In the words of “Day 4 done and I’m dusted” pretty much sums up this ride. From the cute little town of Berdasdorp we headed out on our longest ride for this tour. We knew there were no stops along the route where we could grab a bite to eat or even indulge in a coffee so we packed our own takeaway sarmies for the road (by squeezing it in our bags somehow). There’s no better way to enjoy a well deserved brekkie on the hill that almost kills you 🥵😂
As much as the wind and rain was making an appearance it made the ride way more enjoyable!
What a way to spend Christmas Eve, in the quaint little town of Greyton🎄🎅🏼

Overberg Tour Day 3 ☀️
Napier ➡️ Berdasdorp
We started the day in much cooler weather and a slight drizzle which was soooo welcome considering the heat from the day before. We made our way to Elim where we had a well earned breakfast at Maakit Mooi. Maggie’s vol we headed out and not 4km’s down the road we stopped at for another well earned coffee (well that’s how we justified it 😂). Onward we went on mainly tar road now to our destination being Bredasdorp. Today was definitely easier weather and elevation wise making it a pleasant recovery ride. Tomorrow will be a different story so watch out for our update later in the day 🥵😎🚵

Overberg Tour Day 2 ☀️
Hermanus ➡️ Napier (78km)
Where to even begin on this journey… said goodbye to our lovely host at where we headed off on tar to Stanford for a much needed coffee break. From Stanford we ventured toward our final destination with our hero of the day saving a tortoise from getting ridden over. Little did we know that soon after this we’d slowly run out of water, we had about 33km to go and were running low on water (basically a quarter of one water bottle left between 5 people).
The sun was beating down hard we decided to stop at a farm to take a chance on refilling our bottles. This farm came to our rescue but so wonderfully, offering water refills, toilet break, food and a chance to take it all in. Would have never expected such accommodating and helpful people along such a difficult ride so thank you for your hospitality - we greatly appreciate it!
Onwards and upwards, we were refuelled and with 27km to go we pushed hard in the hot, unforgiving sun. Along this journey we met such incredible people, the hills broke us and somehow made it into Napier with (barely) smiles on our faces at about 5:30pm - long day out. To end it off we made our way to the whirlpool bath and treated ourselves to some beers and aperols, thank you .
