Celebrating the life and legacy of Dianne Pols
With deep love and gratitude, we honour Dianne Pols, a director and founding member of the SAME Foundation, who passed away on 5 September 2026.
Dianne helped build the foundation around a powerful belief: that everyone deserves access to quality healthcare and education, regardless of their circumstances.
She brought compassion, determination and generosity to that belief, giving her time, energy and heart to improving lives across South Africa. Her dedication helped lay the foundations for work that has reached millions of people, creating lasting support for communities, learners, patients and families.
Today, we honour her achievements and the woman behind them: a compassionate leader who cared deeply about others and devoted herself to making a meaningful difference. Her impact lives on in the opportunities she helped create and the lives she helped change.
As SAME Foundation continues its work, Dianne will remain part of our story and our purpose. Every project we undertake carries forward the vision she helped shape. We honour her legacy by continuing to build on what she began, reaching more communities and creating opportunities for generations to come.
Dianne, thank you for your vision, your compassion and your unwavering dedication. Thank you for helping build a foundation that continues to change lives. You will be deeply missed, always remembered and honoured through the work we carry forward.
