Today isn't about celebrating how much women can carry.

Because honestly… we've carried enough. 😂

Perhaps today is simply an invitation to pause.

To notice the woman you've become.

The things you've outgrown.
The things you've learned.
The things you no longer want to carry. And perhaps even the parts of yourself you've been quietly meeting again.

You don't have to have it all figured out.

You are allowed to become someone you haven't met yet.

Perhaps that's one of the beautiful things about being a woman.

We keep becoming.

Happy Women’s Day. 🌷🤍

Behind every classroom is a teacher carrying more than most of us will ever see.

Yesterday I had the privilege of spending time with the incredible staff at Eureka Primary School.

As we spoke openly, one thing became clear. Teachers are navigating far more than lesson plans.

Many are supporting children affected by trauma, poverty, behavioral challenges and repeated disrespect, while quietly carrying the emotional weight of it all.

Yet every morning, they show up.

Not because it's easy. Because they believe in the difference they can make.

One of the questions I asked during our session was:
"When was the last time someone asked you how you're really doing?"

Sometimes the people who spend their days caring for everyone else are the ones least likely to be asked how they're coping.

A special thank you to Rochelle Cupido and staff of Eureka Primary School for inviting me into your space, for your honesty, your openness and your willingness to invest in yourselves.

I left with even greater respect for the work you do every single day. I believe supporting teachers is not an expense, it's an investment.

An investment in healthier educators.

An investment in stronger classrooms.

An investment in every child whose life is shaped by a teacher.
Imagine if a business, organization or community partnered with just one school.

Not to fix education overnight...

But to strengthen the people who stand at the front of our classrooms every day.

When we strengthen teachers, we strengthen every classroom.

Imagine a tree.
In autumn...
it lets go of its leaves.
If the tree could speak, it might say,

"Everything is leaving me."

But spring hasn't arrived yet.

It's between seasons.

Nothing is wrong with the tree.

It's becoming ready for what comes next.

Perhaps we are not so different.

Sometimes the people who hurt us are no longer here.

The moment has passed.

Yet the fear remains.

The caution remains.

The need to protect ourselves remains.

We continue responding to yesterday, even though we are living today.

Maybe this season is gently asking:

What are you still carrying that no longer belongs to the life you're living now?

What's one thing you've been waiting to feel confident enough to do?

Make the call.

Start the business.

Speak up.

Set the boundary.

Apply for the opportunity.

Have the conversation.

What if confidence isn't what comes first?

What if it grows with every step you choose to take?

What's one thing you'll stop waiting for and start practicing today?

You Don't Have to Carry Yesterday Into Today.

Not every thought deserves another day.
Not every mistake deserves another replay.
Not every burden belongs in your new morning.

Pause.

Take one slow breath.

Today is asking for your presence.

Not your perfection.

Become Unownable
Most of us spend years giving away pieces of ourselves without even realizing it.

A harsh comment determines our mood.

Someone else's approval determines our confidence.

A difficult conversation determines our peace.

Without noticing, we hand over ownership of our inner world.

But conscious living invites something different.

Not building walls.

Not becoming distant.

Not pretending that life doesn't affect us.

Instead...

Learning to return to yourself before deciding what deserves your energy.

Perhaps freedom isn't about controlling what happens around us.

Perhaps it's about no longer allowing every circumstance to control what happens within us.

This week, notice where you've been handing over ownership of your peace.

Then pause.

Take one conscious breath.

And gently ask yourself:

"What part of this is mine to carry... and what can I choose to put down?"

Have a gentle week.

Tap it through. Don't carry it.

I didn't know I was living that truth until I finally had words for it.

The hardest truths aren't the ones we discover.

They're the ones we've been living all along.

Many people spend so much of their lives taking care of everyone else that, little by little, they disappear from their own lives.

Not all at once.

Quietly.

If this resonated with you, stay connected.

What part of this stayed with you?

Even as a facilitator and trainer, I still choose to be a student. Every room has something to teach me.

Thank you, Mumtaz Essa, for sharing your journey and creating a space for women in business to learn, reflect, and grow.

What stayed with me wasn't only the practical insights, it was watching someone lead with calm confidence and purpose. It was a reminder that our impact isn't only in what we teach, it's also in how we show up.

As business owners, it's easy to become so focused on serving others that we forget to invest in our own growth. This was a valuable reminder that learning never stops.

If you have the opportunity to attend one of Mumtaz's events, I encourage you to do so.

Because leadership begins with staying teachable.
