The 2025 Annual Integrated Report provides insight into GEMS’ strategic approach and features a report on the Scheme’s financial health, including income and expenses, investments and reserves. The GEMS Day Free State 20-Year Celebration Roadshow is officially underway!

Today, we celebrate 20 years of GEMS and the incredible journey of serving public service employees and their beneficiaries across South Africa.

Twenty years ago, GEMS was born from a vision – to provide quality, affordable healthcare cover to public servants who dedicate their lives to serving the people of our country. That vision has since grown into a trusted national institution, touching lives, restoring dignity, and helping build healthier communities.

Here in the Free State, that story has a special heartbeat. Today, we honour the hardworking public service employees who wake up every day with one mission in mind: to serve with excellence, empathy and integrity. Your dedication strengthens our nation, and your trust and support have helped shape GEMS into what it is today.
