Was so lucky to create this very special kingfisher for a new and dear client all the way from Simon’s Town.

This little kingfisher was originally painted by her Grams, and seeing the painting in real life was honestly incredible.

The size of it was absolutely tiny, yet somehow it held the most beautiful watercolor detail. Trying to capture all of that detail in a tattoo was definitely a challenge, but such a special one.

It was an absolute privilege to recreate this little painting as a tattoo for you, G! 🥹🩵

And even more special that the kingfisher is your birth month bird, adding such a beautiful spiritual connection and meaning to the piece.

One of my old and beloved clients came back to the studio for a beautiful script tattoo featuring her mom’s handwriting, along with a Malachite Kingfisher. 💙

While she was here, we decided to give one of her older pieces a little love too. I got to revisit a tattoo I originally created 7 years ago and give it a little finesse and fresh life.

There’s something so special about seeing old work again and getting the opportunity to add a little more love to a piece that has been part of someone journey for so many years.
