"What did you eat?"
It's a question many of us have heard from parents and grandparents when someone is acting a little differently than usual.
Ancient traditions understood something that modern science is increasingly exploring: food doesn't just nourish the body—it influences how we feel, think, and interact with the world around us.
Ayurveda describes three qualities of the mind: Sattva (clarity), Rajas (activity), and Tamas (inertia). The foods we eat can help cultivate these qualities within us.
The next time you're feeling unusually calm, restless, or sluggish, it may be worth asking yourself:
What kind of mindset am I feeding?
