Meet Dr Bhavesh Dhulab 🦷

Dr Dhulab has a special interest in Endodontics, which means one thing:
root canals are all he does.

He graduated from the University of the Western Cape and completed
his community service at George Stegmann Hospital in the North West
province in 2008. He then worked in his hometown of Secunda for three
years, where he first developed his passion for endodontics.

In 2012 he moved to Johannesburg to broaden his clinical experience,
before completing his Postgraduate Diploma at the University of Pretoria in 2022, under Prof Peet Van Der Vyver and Prof Martin Vorster.

Dr Dhulab exercises meticulous care and aims to provide painless,
precise treatment for every patient.

Outside the practice, he plays the Tabla (Indian classical drums),
is a trained barista, and enjoys racket sports.

Did you know cavities are one of the most common chronic diseases in

Like his sister, Dr Kemp hails from Oudtshoorn. After completing his
B.Ch.D degree at the University of Pretoria, he completed his community
service at the South African Military Health Service.

He joined the team at Dr Liezl Kemp & Associates, bringing with him a

Meet our own Dr Liezl Kemp 🦷

Dr Kemp was born in Oudtshoorn to one of the local dentists. She started
her studies at the University of Stellenbosch and completed her degree at UWC in 2007, where she was also awarded a prize for her work in the
Department of Orthodontics.

Since then she has completed five postgraduate diplomas — including
Paediatric Dentistry and Interceptive Orthodontics (cum laude) — and was
the first dentist in Cape Town to complete the Progressive Orthodontic
Seminars’ 2-year course in orthodontic diagnosis and treatment planning.

Dr Kemp is also a certified Airway Network Dentist, with a special
interest in interceptive orthodontics, Myobrace and airway-focused
treatment for children and adults.

She founded Dr Liezl Kemp & Associates in Claremont in 2013 and has led the practice ever since — earning the 2018 Oral Health & Dentistry Award
along the way.

For the moms-to-be, and the ones who quietly wish someone had told them sooner. 🤍

Did you know pregnancy changes your teeth?

We talk about morning sickness. and swollen ankles. Almost nobody talks about what is happening in your mouth — and yet for the majority of pregnant women, the changes are real and uncomfortable.

Three things:

→ Pregnancy gingivitis. Hormonal shifts make your gums far more reactive to plaque — even small amounts. Up to 75% of pregnant women experience bleeding, swelling, or tenderness, often starting in the second trimester. It is real. It is hormonal. And it needs attention.

→ Morning sickness erodes enamel. Stomach acid is far stronger than anything your toothbrush deals with. Repeated vomiting softens the enamel on the back of your front teeth. Brushing straight after makes it worse. Rinse with water afterwards.

→ Dental care in your *second trimester* is safe. Most treatments are safe. Waiting until after birth is what causes the bigger problem.

If you are pregnant and noticed anything off — bleeding, sensitivity, a sore tooth, a chip — please come in.
