I used to think discomfort was a sign that something was wrong.

Now I wonder if it's often a sign that something is trying to heal.

A seed doesn't break open because it's failing. It breaks open because growth requires it.

The same is true for us.

The parts of life that stretch us, disappoint us, or make us question everything are often the very places where wisdom begins to emerge.

Maybe not every uncomfortable feeling is a problem to solve.
Maybe some are invitations to grow.

There was a time when I thought my body was something I needed to manage, control, or push harder.

If I was tired, I carried on.
If I was stressed, I coped.
If something felt off, I ignored it and kept moving.

What I've learned over the years is that my body was never the problem. It w

as trying to guide me all along.

I talk about learning to listen differently. About recognising when we need rest, nourishment, movement, space, or simply a little more kindness toward ourselves.

Sometimes the wisest thing we can do is stop trying to force our bodies to keep up with our lives and start allowing our lives to support our bodies.

Iโ€™m at that stage of life where I no longer want to sprint through my days just to prove Iโ€™m doing enough. ๐ŸŒฟ

โ™ฅ๏ธ I want morning sunlight (even though winter in Cape Town has the sun clocking in later and later like itโ€™s negotiating its working hours ๐Ÿ˜…).
โ™ฅ๏ธ Plants around me.
โ™ฅ๏ธ Food made slowly & from scratch.
โ™ฅ๏ธ Work that means something.
โ™ฅ๏ธ Quietness without guilt.
โ™ฅ๏ธ And enough presence to actually notice my life while Iโ€™m living it.

For years I thought slowing down meant losing momentum. Now I see it differently.

A river doesnโ€™t rushโ€ฆ and yet it still reaches the ocean. ๐Ÿขโœจ

I think some of us are not confused.
Weโ€™re just disconnected from the things that actually make us feel healthy and grounded.

โœจ Going for a walk
๐Ÿ“š Reading instead of endlessly scrolling
๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ Moving your body
๐Ÿฅ— Eating food that gives you energy
โ˜€๏ธ Getting sunlight
๐Ÿ•ฏ Creating quiet moments
๐ŸŽถ Listening to music that calms your mind
๐Ÿ˜ด Sleeping properly
๐ŸŒฟ Spending time in nature

Lately Iโ€™ve realised clarity doesnโ€™t always come from overthinking.
Sometimes it comes after a workout, a quiet walk, a chapter of a good book or learning something new.

Episode 3: The Power of Silence and Introspection
In this episode, I talk about something that has completely changed the way I move through lifeโ€ฆ learning to slow down enough to really hear myself again.

We live in a world filled with constant noise, distraction, pressure, and stimulation. Sometimes we become so used to staying busy that we forget what it feels like to simply be with ourselves.

This episode is a gentle conversation about:
๐ŸŒฟ creating space to think and breathe
๐ŸŒฟ reconnecting with yourself away from constant noise
๐ŸŒฟ the importance of self reflection
๐ŸŒฟ learning to trust your own inner voice
๐ŸŒฟ finding clarity through stillness
๐ŸŒฟ and why some of our biggest answers come when we stop forcing them

I also share a simple daily practice that has helped me feel calmer, clearer, and more connected to myself.

Enjoy!

This is my hug in a mug ๐Ÿค—
Itโ€™s my morning tea with a teaspoon of the Collagen Health Mix!
Warm, fragrant, a little fieryโ€ฆ just the way I like it.

๐ˆ๐ง๐ ๐ซ๐ž๐๐ข๐ž๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ:
- Fresh piece of ginger
- 4 cloves
- 2 cardamom pods (elachi)
- 1 small piece of cinnamon stick
- one pod of star aniseed
- 1 tea bag
- Milk of your choice
- 1 teaspoon Collagen Health Mix (optional but lovely)

In a pestle & mortar, gently crush the ginger, cloves, cardamom, and cinnamon slightly to release their oils and deepen the flavour. In a small pot or pan, add the crushed spices to water and let them simmer slowly.
Add your tea bag and let it steep into the spice water until the colour deepens. Pour in milk of your choice and let it all come together into a creamy, spiced hug in a cup.

Sip slowly. This is not a rushed tea. Itโ€™s a pause.

Little spicy fact ๐ŸŒฟ
Cardamom has been used for centuries not just for flavour, but because it naturally helps settle the stomach and freshen the breath. Ancient kitchens treated it like a luxury spice and medicine in one.

We often treat self-love like a renovation projectโ€”telling ourselves weโ€™ll finally be worthy of it once we patch up every flaw, stop overthinking, and cure ourselves of being human.

Real self-love isn't a reward at the finish line of self-improvement. Itโ€™s the grace you extend to yourself right in the middle of the mess. Itโ€™s the radical decision to stop fighting who you are.

๐ŸŒฟ Remember this today:
- You are a human being, not a problem to be solved.
- You donโ€™t need to be "perfectly healed" to be entirely whole.
- You can work on your growth while still being profoundly worthy of kindness right now.

In this episode, I talk about something many of us donโ€™t realise until much later in lifeโ€ฆ how much of who we are was built from responsibility, survival, expectations, and coping.

And while there was meaning in that, there also came a point where I realised I was functioning wellโ€ฆ but I wasnโ€™t fully living.

In this episode, I share my own experiences of:
๐ŸŒฟ constantly holding everything together
๐ŸŒฟ losing connection with softer parts of myself
๐ŸŒฟ inherited beliefs around worth and strength
๐ŸŒฟ the quiet exhaustion that comes from always performing
๐ŸŒฟ and what it means to slowly begin unlearning the versions of ourselves we no longer need

This is not about becoming someone new.
Itโ€™s about reconnecting with who you were underneath all the armour.

I love moongh! There are many spellings around but its the same amazing food๐Ÿ˜‚

Moongh (mung beans) have been used in Indian cooking for thousands of years and are one of the easiest dals to digest. Theyโ€™re naturally high in plant protein, fibre and minerals and it tastes divine.

Enjoy!!!
