Yesterday we received a generous donation of 3000 masks from Lymph Africa and Juzo Germany. These masks will be distributed to Early Childhood Development pre-schools and to our Afternoon Angels aftercare centres.

Lymph Africa’s Suzi Davey said she was grateful to her client Juzo Germany for the donation and was pleased that the masks would have such a positive impact within the Ikamva Labantu community. “Both Juzo Germany and Lymph Africa are so pleased that this donation will make it possible for young children to have a safe way to return to school,” says Suzi.

Thank you Suzi, Ronda Barnes and Jestine Vance (pictured above) for yesterday’s delivery – it is thanks to organisations like Lymph Africa and Juzo Germany that we can move forward in our journey from relief to recovery.

❓Lipedema or Lymphedema?

Lipedema is just one of several existing fat disorders and is often misdiagnosed because it is difficult to differentiate from related conditions.

While there are similarities between these disorders, conditions such as lipedema. Their differences must be understood to make an accurate diagnosis.

🔶In LIPEDEMA, the thighs, buttocks, lower legs, and sometimes the arms, become enlarged due to a build-up of abnormal fat cells.

🔴LYMPHEDEMA is swelling under the skin caused by a build-up of fluid in the lymphatic system.

If lipedema progresses, patients can develop secondary LYMPHEDEMA, a condition characterized by fluid retention and significant swelling. The two conditions together are known as lipolymphedema.
