The importance of accessibility and inclusion in our schools and society cannot be overstated. 🤍

The journey to find a school willing to welcome Elijah (wheelchair and all) was not an easy one. It involved countless phone calls, endless emails, and some school visits. At times, it felt discouraging and overwhelming.

Then we found Pinelands North Primary School.

From the very first meeting with the staff, we knew this was where Elijah belonged. They didn’t focus on what Elijah couldn’t do. They focused on who he is, what he is capable of, and the incredible potential he carries within him.

The staff at PNPS welcomed Elijah with kindness, compassion, and genuine inclusivity. They created an environment where he feels seen, valued, included, and encouraged every single day. As parents, that means more to us than words could ever explain.

PNPS has shown us what true inclusion looks like, not just making space for a child in a wheelchair, but making sure that child feels fully part of the school community. Their support, understanding, and willingness to adapt have made such a meaningful difference in Elijah’s life and ours.

Our hope for the future is that more schools will follow the example set by PNPS, so that every child, regardless of their challenges or abilities, has the opportunity to learn, grow, belong, and thrive. ♿❤️
