Understanding different skin tones and types takes experience, knowing when to use the skin and when to go crazy with detail has it’s benefits and drawbacks. The sense of pride I experience when my clients learn to see tattooing the way I do through teaching them and not just grabbing the wheel is exactly why we collaborate so well! Thanks so much for the trust brother Ash! We’re back and building something epic with this sleeve.

Cam’s building a sleeve based on his family, with each name representing a different panel on his arm. This time around we worked on the concept ‘Selena’, based on his daughter’s name meaning Moon or Moon Goddess.

Started this piece on Rhode around two and a half years ago, so seeing how beautifully the centre has healed after all this time is incredibly satisfying.

The original idea was much more heavily decorated with jewellery and detail, but after stepping away from the project for a while, we’re coming back to it with a more refined direction.

Rhode has trusted me with a lot of work over the years, so I’m genuinely excited to continue building this out and create pieces that feel considered alongside everything already on the body.

Jess didn’t know what she wanted for this session, she then proceeded to book 2 other sessions after booking this one. One of my favourite parts of tattooing has always been the people.

You can spend hours with someone in the studio, sometimes across multiple sessions and years. You talk about life, relationships, work, family, stupid s**t, serious s**t, everything in between.

That kind of trust matters to me.

You’re trusting me to permanently change something on your body, so I want the experience around that to feel just as considered as the tattoo itself.

Good work matters.
So does feeling comfortable with the person doing it.
