Today marks one year since a moment that changed everything, 18th March 2025; the day little Jude Mapaling, at just three months old, underwent open heart surgery.
Open heart surgery is one of the most delicate and complex procedures, especially for a baby. It is a moment where skilled hands work to repair what the heart cannot fix on its own. A journey that requires courage, precision, and faith. For parents, it is a place of surrender, where love meets fear, and hope becomes your anchor. You place your child in the hands of doctors, but ultimately, in the hands of God.
Jude’s journey is a reminder that even the smallest hearts can carry the greatest strength. Though his life on earth was only five months, his impact reaches far beyond time. His story is not only one of surgery or struggle, but of resilience, love, and unshakable courage.
To every parent, every family, and every individual walking a similar road. Whether you are facing surgery, loss, or the unknown, please know this: you are not alone. The weight you carry is seen. The tears you cry matter. And the strength you show, even when you feel like you have none left, is powerful.
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” — Joshua 1:9
Let Jude’s life be a light. Let it remind you to hold onto hope, even in the darkest moments. Let it encourage you to cherish every second, to love deeply, and to trust that even in pain, there is purpose.
Jude may no longer be here in the way we wish, but his legacy lives on; in love, in strength, and in every life his story touches.
