LONG-ACTING INJECTABLE PrEP (LEN)
One injection. Six months of HIV prevention protection.

What is LEN?
Lenacapavir (LEN) is a long-acting injectable medicine that helps prevent HIV infection. It is a form of Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) for people who are HIV-negative and at substantial risk of acquiring HIV.

One injection provides protection for six months.

Who can use LEN?
LEN is for people who are confirmed HIV-negative and assessed by a trained health worker to be at substantial risk of HIV infection.

This may include:
- People with an HIV-positive partner who is not virally suppressed or whose viral status is unknown.
- People with multiple s*xual partners.
- S*x workers.
- Men who have s*x with men.
- Transgender people at increased risk of HIV.
- People who inject drugs and share injecting equipment.
- Adolescent girls, young women and other young people at increased risk of HIV.

A health worker will assess whether LEN is right for you.

Before receiving LEN
You must:
- Have an HIV test and be confirmed HIV-negative.
- Have your HIV risk assessed by a trained health worker.
- Receive counselling on HIV prevention and follow-up.

Important to remember
- LEN does not cure or treat HIV.
- LEN does not prevent pregnancy or other s*xually transmitted infections (STIs).

Continue to:
- Use condoms correctly and consistently.
- Get HIV testing as advised.
- Practice safer s*x.
- Seek medical advice if you think you have been exposed to HIV.
