IMPORTANT TYPHOID UPDATE

The National Institute for Communicable Diseases (NICD) has confirmed that there is currently NO typhoid fever outbreak in South Africa.

Although individual cases of typhoid have been identified and are being monitored, social media reports claiming that an outbreak has been declared in Tshwane or South Africa are misleading.

Please rely on information from the NICD and other official health authorities, and avoid sharing unverified health information.
