A Woman Worth Honouring ❤️
This Women’s Month, I want to honour a woman who has taught me that you don't need a title, a qualification, wealth, or a position of authority to make an extraordinary difference in the lives of others.
My mum. ❤️
At 70 years old, she is one of the strongest, fittest and most selfless people I know. Always carrying herself with such grace, poise and elegance. Always stunning, Inside and Out.
She has no formal education or training in counselling, caregiving or community work — yet somehow, she seems to know exactly what people need.
And the most beautiful thing is that my mum isn't a wealthy woman. She doesn't have an abundance of money or material possessions to give away. She isn't boastful about the things she has or does. She gives without keeping score. She helps without asking what she will receive in return. And she never thinks twice about putting someone else's needs before her own.
Yet somehow, whenever someone is in need, a way to help always seems to be available.
She doesn't just follow Jesus. HE walks beside her. ❤️
Not through grand words or preaching, but through the way she lives her life through kindness, compassion, generosity, empathy and through service 24/7, so HE makes sure her cup never runs dry.
If someone is in need, she will move heaven and earth to find a way to help. Maybe it’s medication. Maybe it’s groceries. Maybe it’s a warm meal, Maybe they need assistance with their cleaning, cooking. Or perhaps it’s simply just sitting beside them and keeping them company. As for us, she is always there at a whims notice, no questions asked.
My mum is also part of the Lenasia South Senior Citizens leadership team, where she continues to serve and assist others. She also gives her time and hands-on help to various churches / charitable events in the community and is revered immensely by various leaders and her shining sister friends (birds of a feather really) in her entire community.
She isn't the matriarch of our family. She isn't a martyr.
She is simply our Superwoman, Our Hero. Our inspiration. Our Mum. ❤️🌷.
A woman whose greatest lessons have never come from a classroom, but from the way she treats people through her own life lessons and experiences. She has taught us that you don't have to have much to give much, and that your biggest blessings come from giving and not receiving. That generosity isn't measured by the size of your bank account, but by the size of your heart.
Mum, you continue to show us each day what it truly means to live with purpose and to lead by example.
You may not realise just how many lives you have touched, how many people have been fed, comforted, assisted, encouraged or simply made to feel cared for because YOU chose to show up.
And for that, We love you so much and honour you Mummy every single day of our lives. You are way more than enough.
