Women’s Day: Women’s Dialogue and Health Awareness-As part of the Women’s Day celebrations, the HIV Unit conducted an awareness session focusing on Gender-Based Violence (GBV), with clinic sisters also providing valuable information on women’s health. The initiative aimed to empower women with knowledge about their health, promote awareness of GBV, and encourage women to seek support and access available services. A Women’s Dialogue was also held at Zweli Bomvu Anglican Church, bringing together various non-governmental organisations (NGOs). The dialogue provided an opportunity for women to engage in meaningful discussions, share experiences, and raise awareness of issues affecting women in the community. The collaboration highlighted the importance of partnerships in promoting women’s empowerment, health, safety and well-being.

In celebration of Mandela Day, Thokoza Caring Hands conducted a community outreach initiative aimed at supporting and uplifting vulnerable community members. The outreach included a mobile barber service, providing haircuts to beneficiaries and promoting personal grooming and dignity.
The initiative also included the distribution of fresh vegetables and fruit, Easter eggs and polony to beneficiaries. Through these acts of kindness and community service, Thokoza Caring Hands demonstrated the spirit of Mandela Day by promoting compassion, sharing resources and making a positive difference in the lives of those in need.
The initiative reflected the importance of community involvement, solidarity and continued efforts to address poverty and improve the well-being of vulnerable individuals and families.

On 20 August 2026, a Women’s Day programme was held at the centre to celebrate and empower women, recognising their strength, resilience and valuable contributions to society.
The programme featured an inspirational guest speaker, an educator with a disability, who addressed the ladies at the centre. Through her motivational talk, she encouraged the women to believe in themselves, embrace their abilities, overcome challenges and continue striving towards their goals. Her message was uplifting and empowering, leaving the ladies feeling motivated and inspired.
As part of the celebration, the ladies were treated to a pampering session, which included nail painting. This thoughtful activity provided an opportunity for relaxation, self-care and enjoyment.
The programme highlighted the importance of women’s empowerment, self-confidence, inclusion and recognizing the potential of every woman, regardless of ability or circumstance.

Celebrating Cultural Diversity at SN Chetty Protective Workshop-On 21 September 2026, a Heritage Day programme was held at SN Chetty Protective Workshop to celebrate South Africa’s rich cultural heritage and promote cultural diversity among persons with disabilities. Clients participated enthusiastically by dressing in traditional attire, showcasing the diversity of cultures and traditions within the community. A talk on cultural diversity was also conducted to educate and encourage clients to respect, understand and appreciate the different cultures, customs and traditions that make up South Africa’s diverse society.
Adding to the celebration, clients brought food items that reflected their respective cultures, providing an opportunity to share and experience different cultural traditions through food.

On 15 September, Eleazar celebrated Heritage Day by bringing clients together to embrace and celebrate South Africa’s rich cultural diversity.
The programme featured exciting skits highlighting cultural diversity, where clients shared messages about the importance of respecting and appreciating different cultures and traditions. The celebration continued with traditional music and vibrant traditional dances, creating an atmosphere of joy, unity and togetherness.
The event provided clients with an opportunity to express themselves creatively while celebrating their heritage and learning about the diverse cultures that make South Africa unique.

Celebrating Women: Promoting health, wellness and empowerment at Eleazar Protective Workshop
The programme featured an insightful talk by Mediskills, which focused on the importance of healthy living, regular health check-ups and taking proactive steps towards maintaining overall well-being. The session provided an opportunity for participants to learn more about making healthier lifestyle choices and prioritizing their physical health.

Vukuzame Protective Workshop commemorated Mandela Day by giving back to their community for 67 minutes by cleaned the nearby Gugulethu Crèche on the 20.07.2026. A talk was provided to them by Real Promotions. They were treated to snacks packs, Spur sponsored meals and Tiger brands the Easter eggs. They found this day very beneficial.
