Firstly ; ⭐️ Meet the Owner,

Trishka Maharaj is an accomplished audiologist and the visionary founder behind a prominent group of private audiology practices in KwaZulu-Natal called LTM hearing and The Hearing clinic. Since qualifying from the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) with her Bachelor of Audiology in 2008, Trishka has dedicated nearly two decades to providing exceptional, patient-centered hearing healthcare in the private sector.

Driven by a mission to make reliable, price-conscious hearing care accessible to all, she launched her flagship practice at Kensington Square. Under her strategic leadership, the practice has successfully expanded to key locations in Westville and Windermere.

Beyond her clinical expertise, Trishka is deeply passionate about community outreach, frequently spearheading initiatives to spread vital knowledge and awareness of hearing health. As a proud mother to two beautiful girls and a wife, she believes in investing in her family, her greatest asset!

Heavy work…Did you know the important role that heavy work activities play in our ability to learn, focus, attend, and participate in everyday tasks? 🩷It’s true. We all need calming and organizing sensory input in the form of heavy work tasks that provide proprioceptive input through the muscles and joints.

Heavy work is a powerful support for organizing input in self-regulation. The heavy work resources here can be added to your self regulation strategies.

Autistic girls are diagnosed later and less often as autistic boys, with one study hypothesizing up to 80% of autistic girls are undiagnosed/misdiagnosed at the age of 18.

Now, we don’t know the exact percentage, but I do think it’s pretty high. However, autistic girls DO usually have observable differences (even with masking) that parents and professionals can recognize, and hopefully get them the support they need early on.
