You were never meant to shrink into the shadows, although they wished you to
You were never made with an expiry date on your light, though they tried to dull your shine.
You were not made to live apologetically although they brought you to your knees so many times.
Yes, you got lost for a while, in the midst of their torment.
Yes, you forgot yourself when they painted you as the evil one.
Yes, they knocked you down, but they could not knock you out.
Because you got back up.
And you remembered who you are.
Glow, till you blow them out of the water, not because of them, but because you have a shine backed up so deep.
Don't be afraid to blind them. Or silence them. Or speak your truth.
They did not kill you, you rose from your own ashes.
