Rooibos for health and beauty! Rooibos tea is touted as one of the healthiest drinks on the market, with a whole host of benefits. Yet not many know the full benefits of drinking Rooibos tea:

Rooibos is not really a tea, but a herb. The brew made from the dried Rooibos leaves is therefore a herbal infusion (known as a tisane) rather than a tea, but is widely known as Rooibos tea.

Rooibos is strongly recommended for people suffering from irritability, headaches, disturbed sleeping patterns, insomnia, nervous tension, mild depression or hypertension, as it has a soothing effect on the central nervous system. Stomach and indigestive problems like nausea, vomiting, heartburn, stomach ulcers and constipation can be relieved by drinking naturally caffeine-free Rooibos. Rooibos has anti-spasmodic properties , thus relieving stomach cramps and colic in infants . Rooibos is quite safe for nursing mothers, pregnant woman and infants to drink.

Rooibos is of benefit in the management of allergies like hay fever, asthma and eczema. Rooibos has a soothing effect on the skin, relieving itching and certain skin irritations like eczema, nappy rash & acne when directly applied to the affected area.

Rooibos has also been found to be rich in anti-oxidants plus flavonoids and has 50 times more SOD than Green Tea as well as other anti-oxidants not found in other tea.

Rooibos is a pure and natural product, as it contains no colourants, additives or preservatives. The vibrant red colour of Rooibos comes from the natural colour that develops during the post-harvest process. Rooibos also supplements the daily amounts of calcium, manganese and especially fluoride. Rooibos contains zinc and alpha-hydroxy acid , which promotes a healthy skin and magnesium which is necessary for a healthy nervous system. Since Rooibos contains no oxalic acid it can be drunk freely by people suffering from kidney stones.

Au natural all summer – 5 quick, easy and inexpensive tips to help keep your hair happy and healthy.

Apply an oil rinse
Coconut, olive, and avocado oils are excellent natural hair treatments. Good at penetrating the hair shaft, the oils will also make your hair naturally shiny and frizz free. Shampoo hair as usual and then work in oil from ends to roots. Rinse and condition as usual. Your hair will feel moisturised afterwards, but not greasy.

Wash less
Daily shampooing is doing more harm than good to your hair. When you wash your hair every day, you strip your hair of all the nutrients and natural oils it needs to be healthy. This can lead to breakage, brittle strands, very little shine, and overall, it will dry out your scalp. To get rid of excess oil without having to do a full wash, dab some witch hazel onto a cotton ball and soak in along your scalp.

On one condition
Rinse your hair with apple cider vinegar diluted in water for a quick natural conditioner. As strange as it sounds, apple cider vinegar treats itchy, dry scalps and it will leave your hair soft, smooth and shiny. Use some coconut oil or shea butter to smooth, de-frizz, and moisturise your hair after washing. The oil will give some shine and, if you have wavy hair, it will help create natural curls.

Put a mask on it
Add volume to your hair, get rid of dandruff, control the frizz and keep your hair safe from the sun, with a simple, easy to make hair mask. Use a variety of natural ingredients suited to your hair type - avocado, eggs, tea tree and coconut oils are all excellent additions to a homemade hair mask. Depending on your hair type, use a natural deep conditioning mask at least once a week (or more if necessary) to get that extra bit of moisture into your hair.

Spritz and shine, smile and wave
Make a concoction of water, aloe vera juice and avocado oil. Keep it on hand and spritz whenever a bit of moisture and/or control is needed.

Go Bold - This trendy make-up look is eye-catching.

Bold eyeliner was everywhere on the 2015 fashion runways. Everything from colourful accents on the lid to bold cat eyes were spotted at Max Mara, Elie Saab, Prada and Marchesa.

Here’s how:
Bright eyeliner is an easy way to add some colour to a sombre ensemble and it requires less maintenance than a bold lip. Simply line the top eyelid in your chosen colour and apply few coats of mascara to your lashes for an uncomplicated look. Keep your skin and lips clean or go for a glossy n**e lipstick if you can’t go bare. Blues, purples and greens are great when opting for colourful eyeliner. Feeling brave? Play around with swipes of white and coral.

If you don’t feel brave enough to go rainbow-crazy on your eyes, you can still stay on trend with the cat eye. Feel free to play around and experiment with this trend – go bolder, thinner or more flicked. Keep the rest of your makeup to a minimum or add a bold lip colour for an evening out.

DIY Bobby Pin Holder. We know all too well the issue of buying tons of bobby pins but never actually being able to find one.

They either get lost in our jewellery boxes or thrown into our hand bags, never to be seen again.

So here’s a handy little DIY Bobby Pin Holder that you can make once you’re done munching on Tic Tacs
Supplies
•Tic Tac Box
•Washi Tape
•Bobbi Pins
Method
•Start by removing the stickers on your Tic Tac box. If you cannot remove them completely, don’t fret. The Washi Tape will cover this up.
•Next, decorate the Tic Tac box with your favourite Washi Tape. Go crazy with patterns and colours, the more the better.
•Once done, fill with Bobby Pins.

And there you have it! A DIY Bobby Pin Holder for an on-the-go or at home hair fix.

3 week holiday look! Back to work already? Here’s how to look like you’ve been on holiday for three weeks.

Ditch the hard lines – visible eyeliner makes your entire look seem more harsh and structured. Use bronze eye shadow in your lash lines instead of dark pencil, and see the difference.

Add a dash of bronzer. Don’t bronze your entire face like we did 10 years ago – just strategically add hints of bronze under your cheekbones, on your nose, and the sides of your forehead.

Use a bright but sheer gloss on your lips instead of an opaque matte shade – the brightening effect is instant.
