- Am I assuming the worst?
- What would I tell a friend in this situation?

How fear can grow:

Trigger - Worry -Anxiety - Checking/Reassurance Seeking -Temporary Relief - More Worry

For Example:
* Feeling a headache or other symptom
* Searching symptoms online
* Repeatedly asking for reassurance
* Increased Anxiety

Breaking this cycle can reduce distress.

FOCUS ON WHAT YOU CAN CONTROL

Things you can control:
* Attending your follow-up appintments
* Taking medications as prescribed
* Physical activity
* Healthy eating

Fear Becomes a Problem when:

It interferes with your daily life.
It causes severe anxiety.
It affects sleep regularly.
It starts to impact your relationships.
It leads to frequent checking of symptoms.
It prevents participation in enjoyable activities.

FCR affects many cancer survivors.
It may continue for years after completion of treatment.
Some fear is normal and can motivate healthy behaviours.

Most cancer survivors experience some form of fear of recurrence. Fear levels vary from person to person.
Fear often decreases over time but may return during stressful periods.
