There are two kinds of women in this world, two ways to let their story unfurl.
One sees another woman rise and shine, and thinks, "your victory is a little like mine."
She claps when a woman she knows takes the lead,
She offers her hand, when another woman is in need.
She knows that another woman's light,
Doesn't dim her own, or steal her right.
She speaks with kindness, she builds with grace.
She makes room for others to find their place.
She knows that a crown doesn't lose its worth,
When another woman, discovers hers.
But then there's a woman who tears others down,
Who needs others to lose so that she may wear the crown.
She whispers in corners, she judges, she mocks.
She builds up her ego by throwing rocks.
She mistakes others success for a threat,
She keeps score of things she hasn't achieved yet.
She forgets that a woman who knows her own worth,
Has no need to diminish another's on Earth.
But here's the truth we all need to know,
A woman's true beauty is seen in how she helps others grow.
For life is not a contest or a race to be won,
There's plenty of room for us all under the sun.
We can be the reason another stands tall,
Or the reason she doubts she can stand up at all.
So before you speak, before you judge, before you let jealousy turn your heart cold as sludge.
Ask yourself what your actions reveal, was your comment necessary or is it perhaps you darling, who needs to heal?
Be the woman who cheers when another succeeds,
Who plants little seeds of courage and dreams.
Who listens without judgment, lifts up the weak.
And he is comfortable enough to give other woman the strength to speak.
Because the world has enough woman fighting for space,
Enough silent cruelty disguised as grace.
What it needs is women who know who they are, who lift up their sisters instead of raising the bar.
Woman who understand that kindness is power,
That encouragement could in fact change someone's darkest hour.
Instead of shaming someone to make yourself look good,
How about try to wear the shoe on the other foot.
So I'll ask you with kindness and I'll ask you with care,
When another woman succeeds, do you celebrate or compare?
When she's stumbles and falls, do you judge or extend,
A hand that says, "Sister I'm here, I'll help you mend.
There are two kind of women and the choice is your own.
Be the woman who builds, not the one who throws stones.
Be the woman whose presence makes others feel seen,
Whose heart stays compassionate and whose intentions are clean.
Because a truly powerful woman doesn't need to stand above the rest,
She reaches back, lifts others up, and helps them become their best.
If you'll let people love you, and let people in,
You'll see that most others, unequivocally, want to see you win.
So tell me honestly woman to woman, which one would you like to be?
Perhaps if we compared notes, you'd see you were actually very much like me.
