POWER CLEANS: The art of moving well
A great Power Clean doesn’t start when the bar leaves the floor—it starts with the setup.
At PACK LIFE, we focus on building strong foundations because the correct starting position sets you up for success. A solid setup allows you to stay balanced, generate maximum power, and move efficiently through every phase of the lift.
From there, it’s all about the progression:
Driving through the legs
Keeping the bar close
Extending powerfully through the hips
Pulling yourself under the bar
Landing in that strong, confident catch position
Each movement builds on the one before it. When the pieces come together, the result is a powerful, efficient lift that feels almost effortless.
You’ll often hear us program “touch-and-go” Power Cleans too. Rather than resetting after every rep, athletes cycle the bar straight into the next repetition. Why? Because CrossFit isn’t just about lifting heavy—it’s about moving efficiently under fatigue. Touch-and-go reps help develop timing, coordination, grip endurance, barbell cycling skills, and the ability to maintain good mechanics when your heart rate is through the roof.
Whether you’re learning your very first Power Clean or chasing a new PR, our coaches are there to break down every step and help you move better, lift stronger, and build confidence with the barbell.
